"Mother? Will sister ever come back?" The child asks worriedly looking into the dark hole leading to the demon's world.
"I'm sure she will but not for a long time, Shino." She says with a weak trembling voice sounding as if she's holding in pain.
The exorcist holding up the barrier nods his head. The mother falls to her knees and prays for her daughter's and son's safety. She pauses in the middle of one of the prayers and smiles grimly.
"Mother?" Her son calls to her "What's wrong?"
She laughs as if possessed. She is possessed by the demon of all demons; she has just been possessed by Satin. The exorcist, whom forgets to close the portal, picks up the child and runs. He looks back to Satin and turns back around and runs with the child hunched over his shoulder. Satin turns the body that he possesses inside out and rips it up like rough paper. Blood sprays everywhere.
"MOTHER!" He screams.
"Mother!" His arm reaches out to grab someone and he grabs someone's shoulder.
He opens his eyes to find his bigger cousin who looks younger than he staring down at him. She looks at the hand grabbing at her shoulder with a hard grip. She takes him in her arms and sits down on his bed.
"You're okay Shino. I'm here, I'm real" She grabs his hand and hers hold his, their fingers entangled. "See?" She gives a fake smile. He can see right through that smile into the pain and sorrow she has went through.
"Why are you in my bed?" He asks "Why are you always clingy?"
He knew the reason but he always asks. He is the only family he has; the same goes for him. She sits there silent trying to hide the pain and misery the memories bring her.
"You had a dream too, didn't you?" He asks, their fingers still entangled "The one related to mine…"
She looks down at the bed hiding her face behind her bangs. She nods gulping in the pain, hiding it. Tears start to roll down her face and she starts to sob.
"Why can't I just be dead?" She asks "Why can't I be with my little brothers and sisters? And my mother and step father?"
She starts sobbing and he lets her bury her head into his chest. His shirt drowns out the cries she makes. He feels bad for getting after her now. He forgot that her whole family was killed right in front of her. Yeah, he knows how it feels to see a loved one get killed by the one who killed his mother and he knows how it feels to be alone; as she is. But she was the oldest out of 6 children. She had 3 little brothers and 2 sisters. She had a step father and a mother. Only reason why she had a step father is because their father is the same… Demon. The same demon that killed his mother and her family. The sobbing and wailing finally stops and his grip loosens for a moment but it tightens again and tears start rolling down his face.
"I know how it feels" He says behind gritting teeth "I want to be dead as well and I could have done it a while ago but I must know if my sister, Shina is alive and I also have you to live for, Shira."
They hear a knock on the bedroom door and their bodies stiffen. Shino gets up and slightly opens the door.
"Who is it?" He asks.
The response on the other side of the door is "It's your new adoptive father Shino and Shira"
This is my first fanfic story and I just want to know if it's good or not. I just wanna know if I should quit now or just keep going, in other words, did I catch your attention at all? Lol just tell me and I'll come out with another if it gets good reviews
