Hello! This fanfic revolves somewhat around "The Lightning Thief." I do not own anything that has to do with Percy Jackson. I hope you all enjoy!
Seven year old Percy Jackson tried to avoid his mother's disapproving eyes on the car ride home. She hadn't yelled at him, hadn't made any loud or rude remarks, but her silence seemed much worst.
Sally Jackson had come pick him up from Westgrove School, which he now was no longer a student of.
It had happened so fast, Percy had almost forgotten the details.
The teacher had been going around the room, asking each student what they wanted to be when they got older.
Percy had thought for a moment, then announced "Sweet on America", the candy shop that his mom worked out. It would be cool to come home with a bag of blue sweets, after all.
Gregory Hanson, a big kid with an even bigger and meaner ego, had scoffed, and had called Percy a name which Sally had made Percy promise to never repeat. Gregory also had told Percy that Percy's choice of job was one of the reasons he would never become anything "important".
The teacher only laughed, and had agreed with Gregory.
This was the part Percy didn't exactly remember, but he did remember walking down the hallway to the principal's office, escorted by Ms. Katie, the teacher's helper.
The principal, after a long discussion, had told him he was no longer welcome to the school, as he "attacked" a teacher.
Percy was pretty sure he had only pinched her, but Principal Greene had told him that he had also broken the glass cup which held Mrs. Yates's water; the glass shattering and cutting Mrs. Yates.
Percy could live with going to another school, but what if the next teachers were as mean as Mrs. Yates was? What if they constantly dropped hints that he wasn't welcome there? Or the mean remarks Mrs. Yates told him, things that Percy didn't really understand?
A week or so ago, she had called him child, with a b- word before that.
"Bas child?" "Bast child?" "Bat child?" Percy didn't really hear it clearly, as it had been a mumbled remark. He had decided not to ask him mom, Sally had often seemed so tired, Percy didn't want to make anything worst.
All he wanted was to make his mom happy.
Percy Jackson, at that moment, decided that he didn't want to work at Sweet on America any more.
He was going to do something much bigger.
In reality, it was Percy who got the final laugh. On August 30th 2005, as the Fates had it, he happened to see Mrs. Yates while doing grocery shopping.
Their eyes met, and Mrs. Yates looked like a (rather fat) deer caught in the headlights.
They hadn't talked, Poseidon forbid, but Percy went away laughing.
Sometimes, he supposed, you just couldn't tell when someone was going to end up saving the world from a god in a tuxedo.
