A/N ok something a bit different from me. Not my greatest work but hope you still enjoy. Please review because it gives me motivation to write more.
One year on...
She's in the middle of the warm up when it hits her. She stops dead. The person behind her nearly falls right into her. "Rachel come on... What's the matter?" Some one is talking to her but she's not sure who. "What's the date?" she asks and the reply makes her squeeze her eyes shut to try and keep her tears in. "I uh need a few minutes," she stammers and walks off the stage.
As she walks up the stairs to her dressing room Rachel tries to keep the tears in. She intends to call Kurt but as she steps into the dressing room she sees he is already there. "I couldn't concentrate in my classes" he says in a way of an explanation and she walks into his arms. The tears fall freely down both their faces.
Once Rachel has explained to her director and that evenings show is handed over to her understudy, they head back to the apartment. "Somedays I don't think about him for a bit and then when I do I feel so guilty," Rachel says as they walk up the stairs. "Come on. Artie has something to show you" Kurt says opening the door and disappearing into his section of the apartment.
Everyone seems to be at the apartment today. Sam and Mercedes are sitting on the sofa. Artie is next to them a disc in his hand. Blaine has disappeared after Kurt. Santana is sitting in a kitchen chair. Rachel falls into a chair.
"I've been working on this in my spare time" Artie says wheeling to the tv and setting up the DVD in his hand. Kurt and Blaine come and sit together in an armchair. Artie presses play and everyone seems to hold their breath.
Finns picture appears on the screen along with the dates that show his short life. Then there is a clip of him singing in their first competition. Then pictures of the glee group, of Finn and Rachel, clips from various glee club meeting and competitions. Artie and Finn playing American Football, Finn Carole Burt and Kurt on the day of the wedding. Moments through the years of glee and high school.
Rachel's crying openly and so is Kurt. Santana moves across to hug Rachel. The video finishes and everyone wipes their eyes. A silence falls over them. Then Rachel speaks up.
"It's been a year. You know I thought it would get easier. But it doesn't. You merely start to forget. And if anything that's worse. Some mornings I wake up and I barely remember what he looks like. Other days he's everywhere and I have to stop myself running up to a random person in the street. I miss him so much"
Then everyone was crowding together and hugging one other as the tears ran out. "we love you Finn" Rachel said and everyone nodded in agreement. Finn Hudson was their angel and they knew that if he could he was watching over them.
