Summary: There are times when you make a choice for your life. And times when life – or fate – takes the wheel. And when the timing is really bad, both happens on the same day. Set at 4.03, "In the Beginning"
A/N: I gotta admit - the wow didn't ring any bell at first, but my muse mused a bit and turned it into 200 little words. Hope you like it :-) Dizzo... isn't this a friggin coincidence, considering your next art project? Hehe, had to smile about that.
Looking at the girl beside him, her face shining with trust and love, he knows that he's at a turning point.
So far his life's been… temporary. Ever since his father has left, nothing has been solid and lasting. He's moved from one town to another whenever his mum's new husband had to look for another job. Drunken mechanics weren't exactly top of the list for the most wanted employees. He's been a very angry young man when he joined the army to fight for a free world. When he returned from a burning Hell, the images of shredded bodies and dying men, of screaming women and traumatized children would hunt him wherever he was. Until he met Mary. The girl whose willpower was only outdone by her sweetness. The girl who wanted to start a new life with him. The girl who took his fear of commitment and made him look forward to a place that he could call home. Filled with their joy and love and hope for the future. And some day with their kids.
He leans over to take the little velvet box out of the Impala's glove compartment. He wonders if she'll like the ring.
