Chapter 1: Playground mayhem
Kai with orange hair like his daddy and his mother's heartwarming dark brown eyes was walking to the park with his dad. Mom was out with her creepy witch friend and the blonde his dad referred to as 'The Yankee'.
Dad was taking his to a new park that he had found earlier when he went out for a run, it was right a crossed from a bakery and he promised some baked goods later, they might just bring home goodies for mama.
When they got there Kai released his father's hand and ran to the nearest piece of equipment. Kyo at the meantime meandered to a park bench to watch his son be a goofball. Soon enough a man with strawberry blonde hair came waltzing up with a baseball bat. Kyo went on high-alert tensing up to get the man before he could get the kids.
A majority of the kids stared at the baseball bat man before going into hoots and hollers gathering around the man as he laughed and stroked his chin. Kyo nearly fell off his seat...the man came to play baseball with the kids. Another man about Kyo's height sat down on the opposite side of the bench, he had blue-grey hair with the same color eyes. He looked at Kyo and attempted to smile, more like half-smile
"Which kid is yours?" He asked half-interested keeping his eyes also on baseball bat.
Kyo cleared his throat and pointed to his son who was hanging upside down on the monkey-bars, "that goof with the orange hair" Kyo couldn't help but smile.
The other guy nodded "my daughter is somewhere around...there "he pointed to his daughter with almond colored hair and amber eyes, she was one of the kids with a baseball bat. Kyo nodded and pointed at the baseball bat man.
"Who's that?"`
He scrunched up his face in annoyance his hands inside his sweatshirt pockets."My father-in-law"
"What?"
"He's is my wife's dad...he is a "
"Dork?"
"Yeah...even more so..." He looked over to Kyo "I'm Okazaki Tomoya" He took his hand out of his pocket and held it out to Kyo. Kyo took it and shook his hand
"Sohma Kyo, just call me Kyo Though" They released their hands and sat back to watch the kitty game of baseball commence.
"How old?" Tomoya asked.
"Four" Kyo replied, Tomoya smiled
"Ushio is the same age"
"My son is named Kai."
"Cool name."
"Yeah"
"Maybe they will go to the same school"
"I don't know..."
The silence between them continued, they didn't know that in the future they would be sitting next to each other and that their kids meeting each other this young was fate...
Meanwhile Kai and Ushio were playing on the playground , Ushio long forgot the baseball game to talk to the boy with the pretty orange hair.
"What's your name?" She asked as they climbed.
"Kai, what's yours?"
"Ushio"
Kai grinned "What do you like doing Ushio-chan?"
"I like playing baseball."
"I haven't played baseball before!"
Ushio looked shocked and she grabbed his hand "You have got to play!"
Kai nodded worriedly "O-okay!"
Im never good at keeping the honorifics in the dialogue, well this was a cute episode don't you think?
