A ray of light

Piercing dark thoughts.

But underneath lies deception,

Betrayal swift to follow.

Charm replaced with malice,

As anger and sarcasm overpower.

A fight ensues,

Betrayer vs. betrayed.

Yet in the final seconds,

Before defeat sets in,

True emotions breach the surface.

No cruelty or anger,

Just regret and pain.

Perhaps it wasn't all a lie

In this sick and twisted game.
