Lily (Evans) Potter
I. Sometimes she wondered what life would`ve been like had Severus Snape been sorted into another house; had he not befriended Mulciber and Avery; had he not had such an infatuation with dark magic. Lily knew she would`ve remained his best friend, and in turn never befriend James Potter. Lily knew she would`ve admitted her crush on him, would`ve dated him, and perhaps even marry him. Lily knew she would`ve been happy with him. Not that she wasn`t happy now. She loved James with all of her heart, and she was happy that her life turned out the way it did. But a part of her (albeit a small part, but a part none the less) would always think about her first love and what might`ve been.
II. Sometimes Lily thought Dumbledore knew. Perhaps he was familiar with divination, perhaps he was a seer, or perhaps he simply had a very good sense of intuition. Whatever it was, he knew. He knew she was meant to befriend James Potter, to fall in love with him, to marry him. Why else would Dumbledore have appointed James as Head Boy over the likes of Remus Lupin or Frank Longbottom? The only conclusion Lily ever came to was that he was playing match-maker.
III. A part of her wished her son to be a squid; for Lily, magic had proved to be both a blessing and a curse. Although she feigned happiness in front of James when Harry began to show magical ability, she secretly wished that her son could've had an easier life than she did. One without the complications of jealous family members and the cruciatus curse.
