Author's notes: I want to dedicate this story to the author Reyana Draconis, because her one shot, Pink Roses on Beltane, was my main source of inspiration.

The army of decay had been defeated and the Trix sisters had locked up and taken away. Mirta had decided that she would go to Alfea next year because she did not belong at Cloud Tower. Now here she was, at the school she would be attending in a few months, about to tell something very important to the girl who had saved her from vegetative imprisonment.

"Flora, I just want you to know how grateful I am to you for helping me," Mirta said to the beautiful, dark-skinned young nature fairy.

"It was nothing. I would have helped anyone who was in your situation," Flora said.

"That's not exactly what I mean. I was a stranger to you, but you took care of me and looked after me. You were kinder to me than anyone had ever been before. I would have been willing to be a pumpkin forever if it meant having you care for me."

"If you're afraid I'll stop caring about you now that you're human again, I promise that I won't,"

"That means a lot to me Flora, but that's not what is bothering me."

"Then what is bothering you?"

"Do you promise not to hate me for what I'm about to say?" Mirta asked. Flora nodded yes. "I have fallen for you, Flora."

"Oh," Flora responded. This was a surprise for her. She had never thought that she would have another girl be interested in her like that.

"I don't know if you return my feelings, but I had to tell you." Mirta said.

"Mirta, why me?" Flora asked.

"Do you really need to ask that? I mean, look at you: you're kind, modest, and very beautiful. How could anyone not fall for you?"

Flora stood silent for a few moments, seemingly contemplating what she had just heard. Eventually she decided to speak up. "Mirta, I think I feel the same way about you. Maybe not as strongly, but it is definitely there."

"Really?" Mirta asked, astonishment clearly evident on her face. "Wait. Are you just saying this so you won't hurt my feelings?"

"I don't know," Flora said, and then held Mirta's hand. "But we'll find out together."

"Oh, Flora. Thank you," Mirta said. She then embraced the fairy in a hug, while slightly letting out tears of joy.
