"Rei, how you doing?" Kai asked his koi. For about the past 2+ weeks the neko-jin had been sitting around doing nothing.

"…"

"Rei you cant just sit around like this all day. She wouldn't want you to." the duel hair teen tried to reason.

"…"

The raven hair teen just turned his head to look out the window. He was still trying to get over the fact his cat, Fuzzball, was gone. He had her for the past 10yrs. Only to loose her to cancer. He blames himself for not noticing her strange behavior sooner. Something might have been done to save her life if only she was brought in sooner.

Kai was breaking watching his boyfriend act this way. He too had known the cat for many years and was sad about her lose. But he knew the cat would never want Rei to mourn for her like this.

"Kitten please stop this. Fuzzy wouldn't never want this." Kai looked at Rei's face to see the tears start to fall. They always fell when her name was mentioned.

"…I miss her so much." Rei finally spoke. His voice was creaking and mumbled from either not being used for so long or cause of the sobs he had fallen into.

Kai just knelt in front of the neko and hugged him. "I know babe. I miss her too. But you have to move on with life. And I think Ripples is feeling a little lonely." Just then the orange can walked in and jumped on Rei's lap. His yellow eyes staring at his master hoping for attention.

"Hey Ripps." Rei managed to mummer stroking silken fur. The small action brought a soft steady purr.

Kai smiled as his koi cuddled the cat. Its been so long since Rei touched the adorable cat. The silk orange fur lightly tickling Rei's sensitive neck he began to smile and laugh.

"That's the Rei I've been missing." Kai said hugging the smaller teen and cat. "Now lets say the three of us go do something. I'm sure Ripps isn't going to want to leave your side of a while now that he's getting his long missed attention."

Rei's smiled widened. "Can we watch a movie?"

"We can do whatever you want kitten."

"Then lets watch The Garfield Movie. It was Fuzzy-chan's favorite movie."

"Sounds good to me. You find the DVD and I'll get the popcorn and cat treats. Kettle corn right?"

Rei giggled. "You know me so when phoenix. Come on Ripples, lets find that movie." Rei left the room kissing Kai on his way out. Ripples was quickly following behind his master.

Kai watched the two nekos leave. He had a smile on his face. Rei was finally starting to get back to his old self. It will definitely take time. But with his help and Ripples too, Rei will be just fine.

"Kai where are you?" Rei's voice called from the mini theater in the mansion. "We're ready to start the movie."

"Coming love." the phoenix called as he grabbed the bag of popcorn from the maid and ran off to the mini theater to join his koi and cat.

My little angel is gone from this world. Poor little Fuzzball was put to sleep.

she maybe gone, but never will she be forgotten.

Fuzzzball was my real cat that had to be put down resuntly. Granted i never fell into the funk Rei was in. i still beat myself up with the 'what if I...?' question.

I hope one has to go through this with their own pets.
