This is just a short ONESHOT of a letter sent from Roger to Collins. Collins had asked Roger to send him a letter containing all of the major times he had been let down.
Hey! For someone who's always been let down who's heading out of town?
September 24, 1991
Professor Collins,
That never gets old to say, it sounds so formal, so very unlike the marijuana smoking man that I grew up with. Thanks for the last letter. Mark and I are doing great. He went and got his job back from Buzzline. I feel guilty because he hates working there and he's only doing it so that I can get my AZT.
Now, why do you always use me as an example in your lectures? Why not Mark or yourself? Why not Angel? Why me? I'm not all that interesting am I? I don't quite understand where you are going with this piece of information from me but here it goes.
Ways that I have been let down:
My father let me down when he left
My mother let me down when she gave up
My sister let me down when she married that terrible man
My body let me down when it gave into the disease
My blood cells let me down when they stopped trying
April let me down when she died
The drug let me down when it stopped numbing
Mark let me down when he stuck around even though I wasn't good for him
You let me down when you never stopped caring even when I wanted you to hate me as much as I hated myself
Maureen let me down when she broke Mark's heart
Mimi let me down when she ran off with Benny
Benny let me down when he ditched us for Muffy, I mean Allison
I let myself down when I let the pain consume me
Happy? You finally got me to open up….When you go about telling your whole damn class my most personal feelings please don't use my name.
Well, I'll be expecting a letter by Halloween and a visit (with stoli) by Christmas.
Love you man,
Roger
I adore reviews. ONESHOTS never get very many even though they are just as well written.
Check out my other ONESHOTS, perchance?
