Gwen sighed softly as she stared at the neatness of Lady Morgana's chambers. It had been weeks since Morgana had disappeared with Morgause. Not a single whisper of her had been heard outside Camelot's walls. Gwen continuously kept herself busy by keeping the room in order. It was the easiest way to get away from all the grief and anger that was slowly tearing Camelot a part. A certain prince had been unusually quiet and kept to himself a lot. She worried about him. Arthur was never one to shut himself off from the world.

Gwen made her way down the corridors of the castle, unnoticed by all. She stood in front of Arthur's chambers. She could not make out any movement inside and hoped that the prince was sleeping. Gwen slid a letter under the door and breathed a sigh of relief.

Arthur knew who the author of the letter the moment he saw the handwriting. Guinevere.

Do not lose hope for I have faith in you, I always will.

He stared at the letter with a smile spreading across his lips for the first time in a century it seemed. He had to see her; she was the one who always understood him.

Gwen was quietly preparing dinner for herself when she felt a presence behind her. She didn't need to turn around to know who it was. Arthur was the only one that had a presence which she could sense in an instant.

"Guinevere." he spoke her name, using a tone that sounded lost.

"Arthur." She began to turn to face him but he held her in place, her back to him.

"I don't want you to see me so…weak." He whispered the words as if in pain. It broke Gwen's heart to hear it. She shuffled back until she could rest her head on his board chest.

"Let me see you, Arthur." Gwen said softly. This time when she turned, he didn't stop her. Gwen almost gasped. Arthur's eyes were glaze with tears he dare not shed. His face was pale but he still looked strong. His eyes held a small slither of hope. She embraced him then, her arms encircling his neck and bringing him down to her level. "I've missed you."

"And I you, Guinevere, I was at a point where I felt there was no return. Only one thing kept me from falling into the darkness."

"And what was that?" She asked, hopeful that her Arthur was returning. The Arthur that picked on Merlin because he was his best friend. The Arthur that she knew and loved. She glazed lovingly up at him.

"You," Arthur smiled, placing a disobedient curl away from her face. "And your never-ending faith," He leaned down and placed a feather-light kiss on her lips. "Thank-you." Gwen unconsciously licked her lower lip.

"You're welcome, sire." She smiled. Arthur frowned at that moment, at the formal address. He kissed her again, harder this time, pulling Gwen close and tight against his body. Once he released her he raised an eyebrow almost beckoning her to displease him again. A smirk crept across her face. "Sire?" He 'punished' her again, deepening the kiss more. Gwen was beginning to melt into him. Her body going numb at his touch, her mouth tingling from his.

"Have you learnt your lesson?" He asked, his arrogant and playful personality becoming more apparent. "Or do I have to continue to kiss you?" Arthur leaned down once more just as Gwen muttered.

"Arthur." He pulled back slightly listening to his name ring off her tongue. He smiled. This smile told Gwen that he was going to be ok. Before another word was spoken, Arthur closed the distance between them. For that moment, they were not prince and servant. They were just Arthur and Gwen.
