Walking through the hall, I see him with her. And yet, another day passes by without my first love. I'm unsure what to do, my brothers tell me to move on, but my heart is still with her.
-flashback;
"I love you, Miles," I whisper into her ear, unsure of what her next move will be.
Her smile brightens up the night sky above us as she softly says she loves me, too.
That's when it slips out, "Forever."
-end flashback;
That's what I regret most about that day, saying forever. Because I knew that she was too good for me, and forever wouldn't last. She's over me now, with him, as well. If I didn't love her so much, he wouldn't be in the picture, but I know it'd hurt her all too much to take him away.
Her eyes catch me following her and I immediately look down. It's not that I don't want to see her looking at me or anything, but the connection that I still feel when we look at each other is what hurts the most. I don't mind that she's with another guy, it's that I can see it in her eyes that she still loves me, but would rather be with him.
