He stutters out denials as the gunmen point their weapons at them.

In her mind she calculates the odds on him breaking. She remembers him tied to a chair, tortured, drugged, and whimpering in pain. She remembers reading previous reports, noting how often Reid seemed to be injured in comparison to his fellow agents, and how she had wondered why that was.

She closes her eyes for a second and thinks, 'Reid's been through enough.'

She speaks before she realizes it, her decision made.

Reid stares at her with questions burning in his eyes. An accusation of 'why?'

A hand grabs and yanks her hair, pulling her back off her chair and dragging her away.

The next part is a blur. Fists hitting her, ramming her into things, she even feels a mirror smash as she slams into it. He talks but she ignores it, his opinion doesn't matter...he's a child molesting cult leader.

She talks to her teammates out there, and hopes to God they hear it. She hopes Rossi can stop Hotch from playing the hero and trying to save her. She knows how Hotch feels about the female members of their team.

"I can handle it."

'I have to handle it. It's my turn now. He won't kill me, and Reid will be fine.'

"I can handle it."
