She fought with him. He fought back.

They broke up. But they never stopped loving.

Their relationship was never as strong as the people saw it. Their love for each other was struggling, but they wanted to keep it up.

They somehow thought that their love would be worth all the breakups and the fights; because no matter what they did, they'd always end up running back into each other's arms.

But the thing is they were wrong.

They thought they were meant for each other, but they weren't.

They were never sure whether their love was wasted or not.

Every morning they'd wake up together; each one was a different kind.

He told her to be patient. She told him to be kind. He told her to be balanced. She told him to be fine. Their relationship continued on like that.

The second time they got back together, it didn't feel as right as it did the first time. Maybe they just wanted to last the year.

Then the fourth time they broke up, they finally realized their relationship was never there—it was never alive.

Beck had finally decided that it was no longer going to work; that they couldn't continue on forcing themselves into one another. He carried all the courage he could muster as if it were his armor. He expected the worst from Jade but oddly enough, she agreed. Her normally icy expression was soft—her eyes hinting relief.

It felt wrong at first; not being able to cling to the other because they weren't together anymore.

They kept asking each other, "What happened here?" with them never knowing the answer.

But it was just them being drowned by the thought that they were the best for each other. It was just them being oblivious to the fact that they never made the effort to find the reason why they stayed together. It was just them being sucked into the bliss that people found them perfect for each other.

But one would always tear them apart and the other would patch them up. But this time, both tore the thin thread that held their patches together and not one of them will ever saw them back together.
