Chapter 1: Red

He breathed, teeth clenched, arms tense, fists tightened, legs stanched, and feet firmly placed. Then it all went weak, Red let himself breath finally as his head relaxed, the adrenaline pumping throughout his system he keeled down hands on the ground…it was over. Pikachu ran over to him worried for his trainer. Red smiled as he looked at his electric mouse Pokémon, Pikachu looked back both held tired eyes Red slowly got up as he picked up the ultra-ball lying across from him. He looked at it, his whole team, his trusted, life-bonded partners had slowly been taken down by this one psychic type.

Pikachu had been the last one, he had dealt the final weakening blow. Red had almost cried, not wanting to think of what would have happened if Pikachu hadn't survived, but he did. Red in turn had did it as well He...no his team and him had caught Mewtwo the final path of their journey was completed, he was a Pokémon Champion.

Red looked up at the sky as he walked out of the Pokémon center, he had a final visit with his mother and Prof. Oak but what now? Red contemplated this as he looked at his Pikachu on his shoulder.

"Train" Red looked in front of him as he saw Blue standing there, Blue grinned "I'm going to be even more powerful then now Red, and I don't want my next battle with you to be a total weak waste of my time" he said tauntingly. Red smiled "so get stronger then you are now especially with that unevolved electric mouse of yours Okay?" Blue said with a grin.

"So that are next battle rocks Kanto! So everyone can see it and can see me beat you! Train hard and when were both ready we'll know and when that time comes I'll be waiting…waiting right…" Blue stopped as he looked around Viridian city then he stopped an old competitive expression formed on his face "I'll be waiting right there!" Blue said as he pointed to the now empty Viridian gym. Red looked at it, an old competitive grin spread across his lips. He looked at Blue, Blue looked back.

They shook hands finally respecting one another for who they were (though neither would ever admit it) both champions of Kanto, one a former champion the other a current champion. Both turned separate ways, both anticipating an epic battle in the future.

Red soared through the skies on his Charizard. He looked down as they soared past victory road and then the indigo Plato he shook his head not good enough to train, then as he looked up he saw straight in front of him a huge mountain with snow on the top. He looked down at his town map the mountain wasn't listed anywhere on it, Perfect! He thought to himself. No media, no interruptions just him and his team left there to train. He patted the orange dragon's neck, Charizard turning this head to see what his trainer wanted, Red pointed to the top of the mountain.

No words were needed from that moment on, as Charizard gave one huge flap of his wings sending Red and Charizard rocketing toward the top of the mountain.
