I do not own The Outsiders, or Feeling Sorry by Paramore
AN: I just came up with this while watching a movie about robots… even thought that has nothing to do with the story—I was all like thinking about the song and thought about The Outsiders (like always) and was like –demented voice- one-shot. Now here we are... Well enjoy!
We still live in the same town, well, don't we?
But I don't see you around anymore.
Steve always thought of smart-ass or tag-along when Pony was brought up, but ever since Dally and Johnny died it seemed as though Pony wasn't really there anymore. In the olden days Pony would have jumped at a chance to hang out with Steve and Soda but now and days he simply didn't care. He only went out when Darry forced him and even then Pony would argue that he wanted to stay home.
Truthfully Steve missed Soda's kid brother—or should he say Soda's shadow? Recalling the first time Soda invited Pony somewhere and he said no; Steve shook his head in disapproval.
"Hey buddy! Why don't we go hit the movies or somethin'" Steve asked his best friend. He hoped that Soda wouldn't ask his shadow to tag along. He probably wouldn't mind it much if Pony wasn't a smart mouth.
"Uhh, I have a lot of homework though," Pony stammered—obviously he was lying threw his teeth. Not that Steve would mind. He didn't really want Ponyboy to come anyways.
"Its Friday kid," Soda said, "You can do your homework tomorrow." Pony shook his head and did the most fakest yawn in the history of fake yawns and said he was tired. Steve don't know which was most oblivious—Pony thinking he could fool Soda with that phony yawn or Soda actually buying it?
Steve turned to his friend after they were at a distance of the Curtis household, "You know what Soda? The kid was fooling you. He was practically lying threw his teeth."
"Yeah I know. Hey you have a cig.?" Steve knew right away something was eating at Soda, but regardless of the problem he hand Soda the cancer stick. At least that was what their departed friend used to call them.
"So what's wrong, son?" Steve requested concernedly. Soda then went into a story about how Pony was always somewhat easy-going and now he was stubborn. Soda talked about his worries while Steve listened to each word. "Man, he'll be fine. He just lost his two best friends a month ago—give him time and he'll heal," Steve assumed optimistically. Although this was unusual for Steve to be saying it still help Soda a lot.
"Oh and Steve. Your speech was very deep," Soda teased while dodging the arm that almost crashed against his chest. The both laugh as they wrestled each other to the ground for revenge of the other.
We're not getting any younger, and I
Won't look back 'cause there's no use
It's time to move forward!
That was a week ago and yet Pony wasn't the same kid Steve once knew. To his surprise he missed the follower."Steve why are you glaring at me?" Pony asked sheepishly.
Steve quickly glanced around the empty room and then whispered, "Pony, you need to stop living in a cave. It's like your hiding from everyone." To Steve it was like the whole gang was pitying Pony, but Steve would not have any part in that. He has no time to for feeling sorry.
I feel no sympathy,
You lived inside a cave!
You barely get by the rest of us,
You're trying, there's no need to apologize,
I've got no time for feeling sorry!
Another AN: Sorry it is so short… I am just so tired so I am gonna hit the hay (Did I seriously just say that?) I also wanted to add that this One-Shot didn't have a beta-reader for it either! I feel accomplished( ;
Well Nighhtttt and I love you all… even the flamers!
