Lola was outside in the front yard, playing with her twin sister Lana. They were playing a make-believe game of monsters and princesses while most of the other family members are either inside the house or doing errands elsewhere. Despite that the kids had a lot of energy, eventually they were starting to get tired. "Hey, I'm going inside to drink something. Are you coming with me?" Lola asked. "Naw! I'm just going to use the hose in the back! I'll see you in 5!" Lana shrugged as she already dashed for it. Lola cringed at the gross thought of that and ignored it. She went inside the kitchen and got herself a glass of water. Shortly after, she heard a whimpering sound outside by the garage.
She got curious, so went exploring for the cause of the noises. When she reached around the side of the garage, within the crevice, there's a small weird-looking dog tucking itself in the fetal position. "Aww... What's a cute dog like you doing in a spot like this?... Then again... I don't know why I would think you're cute at all. You look more like one of Lisa's experiments." Then, her eyes lite up at the thought. "Wait! You are, aren't you?" she asked. The dog looked up and nodded his head.
This gave Lola a weird, worried feeling; like she wants to help it out. Not sure why the dog seems uneasy, but it looks like it wants to stay hidden. That's also when she had an idea. "Hey, would you like for me to move you somewhere safer?" The dog barks once and wagged his tail a little. Lola wanted to handle it quickly, so she can return to her games with her twin sister. "Come on, I know a great spot in the house you can hide in for a little bit!" she said, making sure that the weird dog is following her. After a few minutes trying not to get caught, she managed to snuggle the dog into the basement.
"Okay, I know it's spacious, a bit dark and a little cold, but just stay here really quick, while I get my dorky, younger sister Lisa. She'll help you out." Lola said. Afterwards, she ran upstairs and knocked on Lisa's door. Lisa answered the door rather quickly as a small portion of her hair is on fire. Probably from crossing chemicals incorrectly. Lola asked her about the dog she met, but Lisa recalled no such actions in recent times. With nothing else to say, Lisa went back to her bedroom. Lola was now confused and even more curious about the animal in the basement she had downstairs. She quickly returned to the basement door and slowly creeped her way down the stairs. "Where did you go, little doggy? I'm trying to help you out here..." she whispered, feeling the walls all around her so she wouldn't fall. "Where is the darn light switch?!" Then there was a click sound heard by the door and scurrying noises over the stairs. She freaked out a little more and tried to find her footing. "Hey! Is that you?!" she asked again. She patiently waited for any more sounds, but instead, she started to feel a really uncomfortable presence somewhere in the room.
