Lord Restimar's Fate
Lord Restimar scrutinized his surroundings carefully. He had separated from the rest of the lords and the crew in order to explore the east side of the island. He wore his armor and helmet and carried his sword and dagger with him. The helmet and chainmail armor were silver and the sword was a true Narnian blade.
As he looked around, he heard the sound of water trickling nearby. He followed the noise, and presently he came round to a little opening where a stream came out of a lake. He stood gazing at the deep water within the circle of cliffs. The cool looking water was tempting and the scenery was pleasing to look upon.
Glancing about, Restimar saw no immediate danger and so he walked a little ways from the stream to find somewhere to leave his armor. Just round the corner he found some flat stones. The start of heather plants was beginning to show and he thought that they would provide a sort of landmark for him. Carelessly, Lord Restimar cast his chainmail and helmet onto the ground and then lay his sword and dagger on the flat stones.
After he had removed his armor, he strolled back to the stream. He searched the area one more time for possible dangers. In the back of his mind, he wondered why there weren't any animals about, and why the trees were so quiet, for certainly a mountain lake should have a bit more life. Then the thought was gone and he dove into the water.
A strange numbing feeling hit his body, at first he thought it was the cold, but then he found that he couldn't move his limbs. He began to sink like a rock. His arms were a strange gold color. The last bit of air in his chest left him, and then the numbing feeling covered the whole of him and he was no more.
The End
