I can see your tears and feel them as they fall on my face. They're warm. I can feel your lips as they press against mine. I touch your face so gently and you kiss the palm of my hand. Your tears continue to fall. You lean close so I can whisper in your ear. I tell you I love you. I tell you not to cry, and that I'll always be with you.
"Please don't go."
Your tears become more fearce as you try not to cry out. You put your arms around me and hold me close. You kiss me lightly on the neck.
"Stay with me. Please."
I can feel my life beginning to fade. I try my best to hold on, but I can't. I'm leaving you, and there's nothing I can do.
"Don't leave me." you sob. "I need you."
I can feel my last breath leave my body, as I hear your last words to me.
