Enakai couldn't help the shiver that ran through her as she stared up into the cold, harsh, calculating eyes of the scientists that surrounded her, half of their faces covered with cool blue masks that made them seem more alien than human. As naked as the day that she came, the mutant lay spread-eagle across the freezing metal operation table, hands and feet held still from the shackles currently locked around her wrists and ankles. Even though she had learnt long ago that modesty was not something granted by the scientist's of the labs, she could feel herself heat into a blush whenever she caught sight of one of their eyes roaming down to land on her breasts or inspect her mound-freshly shaven thanks to yesterday's less-painful-than-usual surgery.
The sound of a door slamming open followed by angry muttering in what Enakai could only guess was Mandarin thanks to the one word she was able to catch in passing alerted the girl of yet another scientist approaching her nude body. A woman, the sharp eared mutant confirmed as the scientist muttered yet another set of what she could only assume were profanities under her breath. Enakai was able to catch about every other word the woman spoke, her Mandarin rough enough that only the most profane bits were understood.
"Experiment ARj-001," the woman who had just entered the operation room spoke, her head suddenly appearing in Enakai's field of vision. Her voice was twinges with an accent, as if the local Aijë spoken through the covertly hidden lab wasn't her first language. Considering the Mandarin that she had come in muttering, Enakai supposed that it likely wasn't. Still, she spoke it well enough for the young girl to understand it. "My team and I have come from China to let you be the first Avian-Experiment to assist in our creation of the elemental aftereffect."
She glanced briefly at the other scientists, the ones that Enakai could just recognize from the constantly roaming eyes, as if to check that what she said had been right and that the girl would be able to understand it. They nodded, confirming the woman's words before she took charge and waved them off. They scattered at her command, barely even sparing Enakai another glance as if they did not expect to see her again. Perhaps they wouldn't. The woman had said that she was the first of the avian hybrids to assist in the elemental aftereffect after all. Maybe she wasn't supposed to come out of this alive.
Somehow, this fact didn't faze her.
"My name is Doctor Lin Wang," the woman introduced herself once the room was finally clear of any other scientists. Catching onto this fact as well, Lin reached down to pull a hand held radio off from it's clip on her hip. Bringing it to her mouth, she angrily muttered a series of commands through it in a language that Enakai couldn't understand for the life of her. As soon as the radio had returned to the woman's hip, a small army of other scientists all dressed in blue scrubs and long white coats alike rushed in. As the doctor turned to inspect Enakai's naked body for herself the other's hurried to set up equipment, all speaking in the same foreign language that the doctor had used to call them in.
"Experiment ARj-001," Lin addressed her by her number once again, turning Enakai's eyes from where they had been trying to follow a young man nervously lift a box of chock full of vile of colorful liquid, each more brightly dyed than the last. She swallowed down the lump that was building in her throat just by looking at the foreign colors-the thought that they would soon be injected into her was unnerving to say the least. Still, Enakai turned from the man back to the doctor. "We will begin the process. You will receive multiple injections throughout the procedure, but will first start by setting you up to a machine that will read your brain waves."
As she said this, a series of small sticker like objects were all but glued to her considering how tightly they were stuck to her forehead and temples. Another set was plastered just below her ear, catching slightly at her hair and making her wince as the man applying the sticker adjusted it's position. Finally, two of the assistants surrounding Enakai's bed reached their hands under her, gently yanking out her wings until they were spread across the room. A small pinch could be felt on both of them before they were bent back and hidden under the table.
"Now," Lin continued not looking up from the clipboard he had glanced down at while the girl had been preoccupied with the pads getting stuck to her face. "We will be putting you under before we begin the surgery, of course, but you will still likely experience flashes of pain throughout your sleep. It's nothing that will wake you up, but it may give you slight shock whenever it happens."
A needle was smoothly plunged into the side of Enakai's neck, quickly enough so that it didn't give the girl time enough to properly react. Quickly, a deep black ink invaded Enakai's vision as she dropped off into unconsciousness.

Sorry for the crappy first chapter, this is just a bit more of an introduction to our main character.
Also! She will not be the leader of this new found family-flock-group, so I would love to grant someone the position of leader! Along with the profile, just add some reasons you feel your character would make a good leader! Can take more than one character from the same person!
