A/N I own nothing.
"To truly understand what the end of a war feels like.
To truly feel it I'd like to ask you to Imagine."
"Imagine your brother or sister who, even though they were a bit annoying and you got into fights were still up to spending or wanting to spend time with you, either watching movies like Hachi and crying together or watching Dumb Dumber and laugh yourself silly."
"Imagine your Mum and Dad, how they would tuck you in at night, read you a bedtime story like Babbitty Rabbitty and let you crawl in their bed when you had a nightmare. Imagine their smiles at how proud they were of you when you had a good grade or made a new friend. Imagine that feeling of warmth, the love that you feel for your parents and siblings."
"Imagine and take it to the forefront of your mind, and think about it for a moment"
"Now Imagine seeing your brother or sister bleeding out, Imagine your sibling screaming and crying and begging for you to help, but you can't"
"Imagine your parents trying to do their very best to shield and protect you and your siblings Imagine all of that."
"And then survive the encounter."
"I can tell you that the first thing you will do once you wake up in St.Mungo's is not crying, nor getting angry. You'll be numb, and once that wears off, the gaping hole in your chest where you would have thought was a heart and the love of your family, now is a clump of Ice with nothing to warm it up"
"You'd become depressed as anyone would, you'd need to find therapy"
"And then you find out it doesn't work, none of it does, those stupid therapists with their stupid ideas. It feels like they're toying with you like a child would play with blocks"
"So you turn to other means to cope with the indescribable heartache"
"You start with alcohol, after awhile you notice that you don't like being in a drunken stupor for 72 hours straight, so you start doing minor drugs like Marijuana and from there it goes wrong."
"All so terribly wrong."
"Because you now need money don't you"
"So what would you do, once your only care is getting your next dose of cocaine or heroin or MDMA"
"Exactly the same that happened to you"
"This was the story of many-a muggleborn at the end of The First Blood War, including my brother George."
"Why am I telling you this? Because the end of a war is not a happy period like many make it out to be"
"It is the single most horrifying thing, to not have to not look over your shoulder, to not have to plan your idea or scheme to the most minute detail, because if you don't your friends could die"
"It is the most horrifying and hardest thing to have to behave normally once more"
"Thank you"
