Inspired by the BBCAmerica Interview after the book signing in New York…It hit my head right, and seemed like fun. Please read and review!
Disclaimer: Due to the fact that I am a seventeen year old girl, and therefore neither Steven Moffet or the BBC, I own nothing. Also, bit of a crack fic.
"It'll be fun." Amy promised. She and Rory were in the console room, and Rory was sitting with his arms crossed in one of the chairs. As Amy pleaded, she sat down on his lap and wrapped her arms around him seductively. "Playing for the Odd. Ood. Whatever they're called."
"The Peruvian folk band ponchos weren't a good idea." Rory muttered, "I am not going to be part of a real 'alien' folk band."
"Why not?" The Doctor entered the room. "Bands are good fun."
"Because." Rory paused, unable to come up with a good answer, "Because of the band name she wants."
She crossed her arms, "That's a good name!"
"Your name isn't even Karen!" Rory shot back, "It's Amy. Or Amelia."
"So? It's an alias. Karen. I could look like a Karen." She mussed up her hair a bit. "Karen and the Babes."
"Babes." Rory stated. "Is an even bigger issue."
"Babes?" The Doctor asked, "What is a babe?"
Amy grinned, "You and Rory. You two are babes." She flipped her hair over her shoulder, then grinned mischievously, "Well. I suppose if you don't want to come Rory, you don't have to. The Doctor and I will just go out and get on stage. We'll call if we need any help." She patted his head as she stood up and started to walk towards the TARDIS door.
"Don't you dare." Rory stood up, "You two will either come back being chased by aliens or come back injured. Or both. I am not leaving you alone."
"Well, I am going to go out and sing a wonderful song as Karen of Karen and the Babes. You can join me or stay here." She pursed her lips and squared her shoulder as she issued her ultimatum.
"And what song will you sing? It really ought to be an original one." He shot back.
The Doctor, during this minor argument, had hidden behind the TARDIS console, attempting to look busy. "Sing the first thing that comes to mind! If it were me, it'd be Theoretical Quantum Physics and the Anatomy of a Quark."
Rory stared at him, "That is one long song title. The first thing that comes to my mind is…well, Amy." She smiled sweetly at that, and he smiled tentatively back at her. "What about you?"
"Fiji Mountain Water." She answered rapidly. They both stared at her, "You said the first thing! I could sing it. Fiiijii-"
"That's not how it goes." The Doctor stopped her, "It's the Ood, keep in mind. Here, I'll tell you what we'll do. We'll do covers. Of songs. They won't mind. Do you know any songs Amy?"
She rolled her eyes and answered sarcastically, "No, Doctor. I've lived my entire life in a box." She paused, "No offense."
"None taken." He grinned, "Come on Rory. We need to be…babe-ish."
Rory stood up slowly and walked over to them, "This is going to end badly."
LATER IN THE TARDIS
As they stood inside the doorway, resting against it, Rory spoke up, "Remember," he took a breath, "What I said?"
"Yeah," The Doctor replied, almost entirely chipper, "All of it. The first thing you ever said to me was-"
"You," Amy breathed out, "Are such an alien."
"Yes, I am."
"I meant," Rory tried again, "About this being a bad idea."
"Yeah." Amy replied. "It was still fun. We could do tours-"
"No." 'Karen' looked between her 'Babes' as they both shook their heads at her. She stood up suddenly, fixed them both with a glare, and stormed off.
"Still…" the Doctor walked over to the TARDIS console after she had flounced out of the room He turned to Rory and straightened his bowtie. "I wasn't that bad as a babe."
Hope you liked it; I had fun writing it! Please review!
