Hello, whoever is reading this. I'm very grateful that you are. This is my first fanfic, and it's pretty similar to what hundreds of other have written, so I'm not sure if it's good or not. Thanks for reviewing!

Disclaimer: I do not own Harry Potter. But doesn't everyone wish they did?

"What shoots out of a wand when 'aguamenti' is used?" read James to himself while he took his Charms exam.

This is easy, he thought to himself, and started to write the answer. He, however, did not write more than two letters when a flash of red hit him in the corner of his eye.

It was Lily. Lily's hair. Lily's gorgeous, sweet-smelling hair that was shining in the sun where the light from the window was –

No, James thought to himself. I must concentrate. He re-read the question and scratched his answer.

Another movement caused him to look up. Lily was checking her answers. People were starting to turn in their exams.

"Five minutes," Professor Flitwick squeaked. James forced his eyes to slide back down at the piece of parchment in front of him. He was on the last question. He knew this.

When 'aguamenti' is used, he wrote, but the sound of someone getting up caused him to jerk his head up again. Lily was finished and handing Flitwick her exam. She walked back down to her desk, beautiful as always, and started to gather her things.

James stared at her every move. She smiled to her friend across the room, scowled when she discovered James was looking at her, and walked out the door.

A bark-like chuckle from Sirius pulled James out of his trance. He slid his eyes back onto the parchment, just as Professor Flitwick squeaked, "One minute."

Hurriedly, James re-read the question several more times, feeling as if the exam was written in Russian rather than English.

Shoots out of a wand... Aguamenti... Hair... Wand... Lily...

He bit his lip, trying to concentrate, as Flitwick piped up again.

"Please give me your exams, everyone."

James hastily dipped his quill in ink and hastily scribbled, Balloons. Feeling hopeless, he shoved the exam at Professor Flitwick, wishing he could have been in a Lily-free environment at the time. Sulkily, he gathered his things and walked out of the classroom, greeting Padfoot, who was waiting at the door.

Sirius chortled to himself as he saw the annoyed look on his friend's face. "You're doomed, mate."

Thanks for reading. I hope you enjoyed it!
