After being in the market all morning & having met the very handsome Pharaoh, Loretta sat with her family eating lunch, all she could think about was the Pharaoh, his wonderful, rich voice, the soft touch of his lips & last but not least his beautiful deep violet eyes. She was so engrossed in daydreaming about the Pharaoh she hadnt realised that her Mother had been talking to her for the past few minutes "Loretta...Loretta, are you listening to me young lady..." "Oh...sorry mum" Loretta said with a giggle "Are you ok Loretta..." said Rachelle looking confused, not realizing what her younger sister had just not long ago experienced "Mum...Is Loretta ok" said Celina as a deep red blush formed on Loretta's face as she still thought about his royal higness "I think you should go to bed & rest you look like you are coming down with a fever" "I'm fine mum...I kinda met someone today..." "Ooh, Loretta's got a crush" Rachelle teased "Oh did you now, what was his name, who is this boy" said Rosetta as she put emphasis on the word Boy "Well actually...I met the Pharaoh..." said Loretta as everyone gasped "You didnt go onto his palace grounds did you..." "I may have but it was an accident...I didnt mean to" "So what happened" said Rosetta folding her arms across her chest glaring at her daughter. "Well...first i was confronted by a guy in a blue outfit & then out of nowhere i heard a voice saying for him to leave me alone...which belonged to the Pharaoh, because the other guy who i think the Pharaoh called Seto..." "Wow you met Priest Seto, hes HOT" "Rachelle!" "What!?" "Anyway as i was saying...when Seto confronted me he knocked me to the ground, but when the Pharaoh arrived he helped me up & kissed the top of my hand, oh mum he was so gentle with me" Loretta gushed "he asked me what my name was, so i very politely told him but then i got really nervous & told him i had to go home because i had to have lunch, but as i went to walk away he grabbed my hand & asked if he could escort me home & apologized for keeping me away from my family, but i bowed & thanked him & said that i was alright" "Wow...Is this true Rachelle..." "I dont know mum, i had left Loretta & was making my way back home so i didnt see any of it happen" "Ok...well make sure you stay off the Palace grounds from now on please young lady, unless invited by the Pharaoh himself, of course" said Rosetta as she stood with her hands on her hips "Yes Mother, i will stay away...At least i have my memories of him" thought Loretta sadly

Atem & Seto's making there way back to the Palace

"What is wrong with you Seto, why did you have to frighten that poor girl" "Sire, with all due respect, she was tresspassing on your palace grounds" "Yes, maybe but she wasnt doing any harm, i know you are here to protect me but she wasnt posing any threat" "Atem...you do remember that you are ment be choosing a Princess to become your Queen at this afternoons meeting, you dont have time for hanging around silly little girls" "Thats enough! I will choose who & when i marry, Seto! Not you!" "I am sorry my Pharaoh you are right, im just trying to look out for you as my King & my cousin" "I am sorry too Seto, i shouldnt have raised my voice at you, but there was something different about that girl...Loretta was it? She had the most beautiful blue eyes i have ever seen" "I have blue eyes..." "that, you do Seto" said Atem with a chuckle "come on we have a meeting to Attend & as Pharaoh i cant be late"

Back at Loretta's house, As it was comming to the time of Ra setting, Lorettas parents were talking.

"I dont know what to do Abydos, i think our Loretta has a crush on the Pharaoh?" "When did this happen?" said Loretta's Father looking confused, so Rosetta told her husband the story that Loretta had told them that afternoon "She is so lucky, not many people get to see the Pharaoh up that close...Ive never met him, i do have a work college that knew the former Pharaoh, his Father" "I have told Loretta to stay away from the Palace grounds from now on, the Pharaoh is a very busy man & she might get into serious trouble if she was ever caught again by someone else" said Rosetta as she sipped her cup of coffee "Its ok Rose' dont worry about it anymore, Loretta is an intelligent young lady & loves & respects you more than you know" "I suppose your right, im just worried is all, i couldnt hardly get any sense out of her at lunch" After afew hours of talking "I should be getting to bed, i have to be up early in the morning to start work" said Abydos "I will come as soon as im finished" said Rosetta finishing her last mouthful of coffee & her dairy entry.

Meanwhile up in Lorettas room, Loretta was sound asleep, she was busy dreaming of everything that had occurred during the day, the way the Pharaoh had helped her up & stood up for her to his high priest. but Loretta's dreams were about to turn ito reality quicker than she thought. As she slowly driffed in & out of being asleep & just laying with her eyes shut. she could hear a small 'tap' on her window, almost like someone was throwing stones at it to get her attention "I bet one of my friends is trying to get me to go to some stupid party" she thought dozily as she got out of bed, turning her bedside lamp on & drawing her certains, once she had done so she noticed a figure sitting on her balcony railing

"woah, who is that...it cant be" coming out through her doors "who's there" she whispered, trying not to wake her sleeping parents "Hello Loretta" whispered the deep baritone voice of the stranger in the black cloak, she recognized the voice almost instantly "Your Majesty" she whispered "Of what do i owe this visit?" being that Egyptian nights were really dark she couldnt see much except the glint of some of his gold in the moonlight. "Please, call me Atem..." he whispered, climbing down off the ballister & taking a step closer "Wow, it that your name, how beautiful" "you are beautiful...." said Atem taking a step closer & caressing the side of her face, also revealing his face from under his hood, now Loretta was able to study Atem's face for a short period of time, he had a beautiful face, a strong sharp jaw line along with the dark lines that were painted under his eyes made him look almost intimidating but he wasn't.

"I cant believe it, the Pharaoh came to find me...me!" thought Loretta as she saw Atem's bangs lick the side of his tanned face from a small breeze that wondered past "So tell me abit about yourself Loretta" he whispered sliding back up onto the ballister next to her "Well...what do you want to know" she whispered doing the same but not sitting too close "...anything?" "ok...i have two sisters & a brother, one sister is older & one younger & then Rafael, he is the twin to my younger sister...what about you?" "sadly no...i am...i mean was an only child...My Mother died giving birth to me so i was never able to meet her" he whispered as a small tear formed in the corner of his eye "Im so sorry" Loretta whispered placing her hand on top of his, which sat on his lap "So, if you dont mind me asking...How old are you..." he whispered not trying to be rude "Im 17, what about you? If you dont mind?" "Oh, i am 19, not really a day i wish to remember, my Father died on the eve of my 18th birthday, making me just at the legal age to take the Throne & become Pharaoh" "Oh Atem thats so sad, i so sorry for your loss, i would hate to loose my parents at a young age, I love my Mum & Dad so much" said Loretta as she sat closer & leaned her head on his shoulder. As they talked they got to know each other better , reminising about people past & present, untill they noticed it was starting to get late "Oh i am so sorry Loretta, i have kept you up all night talking" "Its ok i dont go to school anymore, i just help mum with the twins & house chores". Just then Atem had idea, "would you like to accompany me back to the Palace...As my guest, i feel guilty for keeping you up & would like to get to know you more" he said as a light blush formed across his cheeks "I would love to see your palace, its so beautiful from the outside...but what about my family" "Would you like me to leave a note for you" "No, its ok i will do it, let my find a small scroll first" said Loretta slipping down off the ballister & in through her doors "Come in from the cold, while i find it" she said notioning to him to come in from outside "Are you sure its ok, i dont want to intrude" "Its fine, we know each other alot better now" Loretta started the letter

To Mum, Dad, Rachelle & the twins

Its hard for me to say this but, im leaving home. The Pharaoh came & visited me & has invited me to stay with him in his palace, he said you could come & see me in the morning, if you wanted to.

"All done?" question Atem as he sat on the end of her bed "yup, im ready to go when you are" she said as she took a sapphire blue ribbon out of her hair & tied it around the scroll, leaving it on the end of her bed "wow, what beautiful long hair" "Just a question before we leave Atem, how did you get here?" "Oh, i rode my horse, i put him around the side of the house so that he couldnt be seen...Have you ridden a horse before" "Yes i have, i love horses" "Come i will help you down" Helping her down from the balcony then up onto his horse "Here, take this" he said handing her a cape "Put it on so no one recognizes us" "I wouldnt want anything to happen to you Atem, not after you have been so kind to me" said Loretta putting the cape on & pulling the hood over her face "Hold on to me Loretta, we need to get going so you can get some rest" feeling abit unsure she instinctively put her arms around his waist leaning up against his back, placing his hand on hers "Are you ok..." he asked sweetly "Im ok, im just protecting my face" she mumbled "we are nearly there...".

Getting to the palace Atem had noticed that Loretta had fallen asleep, but she had a smile on her face. Now was the biggest challenge, getting her into the palace & to a room, but what room, he hadnt planned this far ahead, he didnt know of any of the rooms that were vacant, the only thing for him to do was put her in his bed, it was going to be weird sharing his bed with someone but it was a cold night & she needed to be kept warm, that was his main concern. "Good Night Loretta, pleasant dreams" he whispered as he kissed her cold cheek "I hope shes going to be ok" he thought as he went over to the couch that was placed next to the balcony doors "I will give her some space for tonight since we dont know each that well just yet, i have to give it time". In the early hours of the morning something woke Atem...It was Loretta, she was having a nightmare, she was tossing & turning & mumbling things in her sleep, getting up & rushing over to her to calm her down he noticed she was shivering "I said i would give her space but she needs to be kept warm" he thought as we layed down on the opposing side of the bed, laying so his back was against hers , eventually he noticed she stopped shivering & began to breathe at a slower rate, now he could get to sleep as well & when Ra rose in the morning he would assess the situation then but for now his eyelids were heavy & he just wanted to sleep.

In the morning as Ra rose Atem found himself with Loretta within each others arms, he also found he had taken his shirt off, "oh no, what have i done...i hope i havent done anything" he thought as he looked down at Loretta who was still soundly sleeping , "Anytime soon she is going to wake up...i dont want her to feel uncomfortable, but she looks so beautiful when she sleeps...No! Stop that Atem...You mustn't think like that about this girl" he thought, mentally telling himself off as he felt his hormone levels rising. It wasnt too long & Atem started to notice Loretta starting to stir "Mmm...Im so lovely & warm" said Loretta letting out a small yawn, not realizing who she was face to face with, due to her not even having opened her eyes yet "I better close my eyes so that she thinks that im still asleep" Atem thought, but it didnt matter as he noticed that Loretta was wriggling closer to him looking for the source of the warmth.

Being that she was laying so close Atem could feel Lorettas eyelashes tickeling his chest as her eyes slowly fluttered open, "Oh..." Loretta said startled as she finally came to realize whos chest she had her hands on "Good Morning Atem..." but to no avail he had gone back to sleep, after a while he started to stir as well with a yawn "Im sorry Loretta, I-I told myself that i would give you space while you stayed with me but i noticed last night you were shivering badly...and...and..." he said looking slightly embarassed at the situation at hand with a light blush forming across his face "Sssh its ok Atem, i know you had no bad intentions, you were only looking after me like you have done since we met" she said also with a blush forming on her face, looking down & picking his hand up from under the blanket & giving it a light squeeze "Thank you Loretta...What is this that im feeling...could i possibly be...in love" "Is everything ok...i really want to kiss him...no i cant!" "Im fine..." he said clearing his throat, just then a knock came at his door "My Pharaoh..." said a voice that was familiar to Loretta's ears "Just to let you know, you are due to attend a meeting which is taking place in half an hour" "Thank you Seto" said Atem in a croaky voice "Are you ok Atem? If you are too unwell to attend the meeting we can postpone it untill the evening" "I will be fine" he said clearing his throat again getting his normal voice back "I will be to my throne in five minutes...{Seto, i need to speak with you privately, wait outside the throne room door for me}" "Ok, i will tell the rest of the Royal court...{oh, is everything ok}?" said Seto through their mind link . "oh no..." said Loretta sounding scared & hiding under the blankets

"Loretta...whats the matter" said Atem looking under the blanket at the cowering Loretta "oh...I forgot...shes afraid of Seto, all because of the way he treated her yesterday...poor girl...Loretta...Im so sorry, please come out, i promise he wont hurt you...I will protect you" "who is that guy..." said Loretta slowly making her way back up to the top "He is actually my...cousin" "Woah no way...you are nothing alike" "I know but our fathers are brothers...I have to get up for the meeting but If you dont want to come with me, i dont mind you staying in here & i will bring you some breakfast after my meeting?" he said looking sympathetically at her, seeing her eyes well up with tears "I dont have any clothes with me, i left home last nite without thinking" "hey, its ok...I think there might be a dress or two of my mothers that i have kept..." "Thank you Atem" she said giving him a hug, before getting up "I will go & let you get dressed in private, i have a meeting to be at but if you want to have breakfast with me i will come back to my chamber & get you" said Atem as stood getting himself dressed into his Egyptian attire "Wow he's gorgeous, look at all that gold...Thank you Atem, for everything & good luck". Watching him walk out the door before she got up.

Back at Loretta's parents

It was time for everyone to get up but there was a problem, after being called numerous times by her Mother , there was no response from Lorettas room "Rachelle, would you be able to go up & check on your sister, her breakfast is getting cold" "Sure mum...Hey Loretta...time to get up" said Rachelle knocking on her door but to no avail "Shes not answering me either mum" "Ok , i will come up & check her" said Rosetta putting down what she was doing "Maybe she wasnt well yesterday after all..." thought Rosetta as she came up the stairs. "Loretta...time to get up sweetheart" pushing down on the door handle to find Loretta's bed made & empty with a scroll sitting on the end with a familiar looking ribbon tied around it "She's gone..." "Mum, thats Loretta's ribbon, she always wears that in her hair...what does the letter say" asked Rachelle as she watched her mother untie it & start reading. After afew minutes Rachelle noticed tears welling up in her mothers eyes "Mum...are you ok..." "Your sisters gone, the Pharaoh came & visited her in the middle of the night & took her back with him to his Palace" "Aargh..." said Rachelle sound fustrated "I knew i should have stayed with her, none of this would have happened if i would have just stayed with her yesterday" "Its ok Rachelle, its not your fault...It says here that the Pharaoh has personally invited us to come & see him & Loretta this morning so we better have our breakfast & get tidied up" "Wow, i better tell Celina & Raf" said Rachelle running down the stairs "Hey Rach, Is Loretta ok" "Well...Yes & no...I will tell you over breakfast, now hurry up, we have to get dressed up nicely"

Back at the Palace

Finally after finding a dress that she liked & that fitted her , Loretta got dressed, did her hair to her best ability, then sat & waited for Atem to return. In the mean time Atem hadnt even had his meeting yet, he was so busy having a conversation with Seto outside the throne room it got wiped clean from his mind, untill Seto said "Um...I hate to interupt you Atem but we have a meeting that we should be in, that started 15 minutes ago "Oh no! I completely forgot about the meeting, i dont know what is wrong with me...Im never this forgetful" "Your in lov-" Seto started before he noticed Atem glaring at him with his deep Violet eyes "Save it! Now i have a meeting to finish & not a word of what i just told you to the rest of the court" said Atem, turning around & making his way towards the throne "Yes Pharaoh" said Seto slightly bowed as Atem walked past

In Atems room

Loretta still sat on the end of Atems bed listening to her stomach growling "oh man im hungry, i havent had anything since dinner last nite...I hope Atem comes soon...I might as well lay down & rest while i wait...theres not much else i can do" she said to herself laying down & closing her eyes.

In the Throne room~

"Ok, if that is all everyone is dismissed" just as Atem stand up about to walk away, Seto clears his throat "Ahem, Pharaoh are you forgetting something" "Oh um...Yes, now i have a special guest staying with me, you will meet her soon enough but i warn all of you, be kind to her she's very timid, i may have...snuck out last nite to see her" everyone gasped, to think their Pharaoh would do something like that, that was something they expected Seto or maybe Mahad to do, but the Pharaoh...Shimon, who was standing next to Atem stood with his arms folded across his chest, shaking his head "What!?" said Atem looking at Shimon out of the corner of his eye. "Im very disappointed in you Atem..." Shimon started "Oh Great...your starting to sound like my Father" said Atem folding his arms, looking away "I am you adviser & as such i am advising you that maybe, you shouldnt carry this on with this girl" by now Atem had enough of being told what to do by thoes of lower ranking "Enough! I am sorry shimon but i cant let you control who i love, I AM in love with Loretta & she might just end up being the new Queen" everyone gasping again at Atems statement

"The meeting is over, i am going to go & check on Loretta then she will be having breakfast with us" he said as he walked out of the throne room "I have left her far too long, i hope shes ok...This isnt a good way to start off a new relationship" getting to his chanber door, he quietly opened the door to find Loretta curled up in a ball like a small kitten laying in the sun "Loretta...are you ok..." he cooed as he ran his hand gently over the side of her face, sitting down on the edge next to her "Oh -yawn- hey Atem...where have you been..." "Im really sorry Loretta, first i got held up by Seto then the meeting took longer than expected" "I missed you" she said turning over looking directly up into his eyes as he looked down into hers. "Would you like to come & have breakfast now" he said caressing the side of her face, before she could answer his question her stomach gave off a very loud growl making both of them laugh "I guess that answers my question then" he said with a chuckle "Atem?..." Loretta said hesitantly, sensing her uneasiness he put a reasurring hand on her shoulder "It will be fine, everyone is really nice, just stay by my side, i will look after you" "ok...Thank you, Atem". Coming out of the room & making their way down the hall, Loretta began to see the enormity of his Palace, it was so beautiful, the design of everything reminded her of home, bringing a tear to her eye. noticing that she was crying he stopped, catching the tear at the top of her cheek with a finger "Do you miss your family?" "your palace reminds me of the way my Mother & Fathers home is decorated, its so beautiful in here i just got caught up in the moment, im fine, really" she said forcing a smile "come on this way". Eventually they got to the dining hall "take my hand, maybe then you will feel more secure as we walk through" he said holding his hand out for her to take "Are you ready", taking a deep breathe & closing her eyes for a moment then opening them again "Ok...ready as i'll ever be".

walking through the dining hall Loretta knew they were being looked at by everyone especially since she had the Pharaohs hand in hers "You can do it Loretta, stay calm, i forgot to mention when we are around the Royal court, call me by my title, rather than my name, just in respect " he whispered "Thank you, Pharaoh" she whispered back, now with a big smile on her face. Bringing her up to the front of the table where he sat, before they sat down he announced "Could i have your attention please...I would you all to meet Loretta, she will be staying with me for a while, please make her feel welcome" he finished sitting back down but before he could a memeber of the guard came in "Excuse my intrusion Your Majesty, there are two people here that wish to see you" "Thank you Ramses, did they say what they wanted?" "They are here to see Loretta", Atem looked at Loretta looking confused "It must be my mum & my sister" "very good direct them towards the dining hall they can have breakfast with us" "Yes your highness, right away" he said with a bow before leaving "Wow, Mum actually came, i cant believe it, i thought she would be disappointed" thought Loretta , as she gradually ate through a plate of fruit, bread & various other things "Wow" Atem said with a chuckle, "you were hungry" "Sorry Ate- I mean Pharaoh, did you want some" she said holding up a bunch of grapes "dont mind if I do " he said taking one or two "{Wow, would you look at the Pharaoh, hes laughing & smiling & even sharing his food, i think we should have a re-think about what we originally thought & said about this girl. If she makes him happy thats all that matters}" Seto thought through mindlink to the other Royal court memebers who all nodded silently in agreement "Excuse me Pharaoh" said Seto standing up from his seat "We would like to apologize for what we have said & thought, its none of our business who you fall in love with, the only thing that matters is your happiness & we see that she makes you very happy" "Thank you Seto, I am happy & your apologize is accepted" after a few minutes everyone sat eating & happily chatting away & getting to know Loaretta abit more, as her Mother & Sister finally arrived "Mum? Is that you" she said getting up & running to her mother with happy tears in her eyes "I missed you so much" "Wow Loretta, look at your beautiful dress" said Rachelle "It actually belonged to Atems Mother" she said as she twirled around, showing it off abit more "Atem?...Oh the Pharaoh, so he told you his name?" said Rosetta looking impressed "Yes he told me last nite when he came to visit", hearing his name he came up behind Loretta placing his hand on her shoulder making her jump slightly "Good morning your Majesty" said both Rachelle & Rosetta bowing "Good Morning to both of you, its a pleasure to meet you" he said as he put out his hand for Rosetta to shake "the pleasure is all mine your highness, its so lovely to meet you, Im Rosetta & this is my eldest Daughter Rachelle" "Would you like to have some breakfast with us?" "No Thank you My Pharaoh, we ate before we came here, Loretta, i brought some clothes for you" "Thank you Mum, much appreciated" "can i offer you a drink then" "No thank you Pharaoh, we are ok, thank you for the kind gesture" "Please come & sit, so we can talk" said Atem as gestured towards the head of the table "Thank you Your Majesty, you first", making their way to the head of the table & taking a seat "Its so lovely to meet you Rosetta" "Like wise your highness, you have such a beautiful Palace" "Thank you...Um if you dont mind me saying, just while Loretta isnt here, i was wondering...with your permission...if I-I could start courting your daughter" "Wow, um...you really love her, dont you" "Yes i do, i have ever since we first met that day, i know it seems sudden but Royal law states that if she was to stay here for longer than two days we have to be courting" "because i can see that you love her so much & have been taking such good care of her, i will give you my permission" "Thank you Rosetta, you dont know how happy this makes me, please stay here & dont tell Loretta anything, i want this to be a big surprise for her" "Mum, whats going on, wheres The Pharaoh going?" "Um...i dont know...i hate lying to my daughter" "I hope he comes back soon"

After afew minutes Atem arrived back in the dining hall with two small boxes in his hands "Excuse me everyone, i have a very special announcement to make...Loretta could you come up here please" "Oh um sure...what is it Pharaoh..." getting down on one knee & taking her hand "Loretta i have loved you ever since the day i met you, i know we havent known each other for very long & i just want to know, will you marry me" "Aww wow...Phar- I mean Atem" he nodded in agreement "I cant believe it, i have dreamed about this for years...Yes Atem, i will marry you" "here, this is yours" showing her the ring, which was gold having the eye of horus on it "Wow Atem that is beautiful, Thank you so much, i love it...& I-I love you" said Loretta starting to blush "I love you too Loretta" said Atem as he stood up "could you please, kneel down now" doing as he said she knelt down "Now, because you are now my bethrothed, i have something very special for you" he said getting the tiara out of the box & gently placing it on the top of her head "You can stand up now" standing up & for the first time giving him a hug publicly "Thank you again Atem its beautiful" said Loretta with a big smile on her face "That tiara belonged to my Mother back when she was a Princess" "Congratulations Loretta, we are so proud of you" said Rosetta coming up to her & giving her daughter a hug "Wow Loretta, you look beautiful little sis". After a while, the time came where it was time for Rosetta & Rachelle to go home, everyone said their goodbyes, It was such an odd feeling for Loretta to be where she was & watching her family leave, but now was her chance to get to know Atem better, he was her fiance' now & that ment so much more than them just being friends. After everyone had cleared out of the dining hall, the only two people left were Atem & Loretta, as per normal were sitting & talking & Loretta was giggling "Come on lets go somewhere more private" said Atem putting his arm around her waist "Im so happy, im glad that its you that im going to be marrying Atem" said Loretta as she kissed his cheek. Getting to there room "Ladies first" said Atem bowing before Loretta "Thank you Atem" she said opening the door "oh man, im exhausted, i think i ate too much" "Come & lay down with me" said Atem as he layed down on his side of the bed "aaah much better..." "Are you ok..." "I will be..." said Loretta blushing as she looked up into Atems eyes "You are so beautiful...um, Loretta..." Atem started as he blushed "...Is it ok if i kiss you..." "woah...no way..." thought Loretta as she could feel her heart racing "...yes..." she started to say as she was cut off by the soft touch of Atems lips on hers "...this feels so good, but now what do i do...i'll just follow his lead" thought Loretta as she noticed Atem deepening the kiss, following suit she pulled him closer , running her fingers through his hair while taking off his crown kissing him passionately. After afew minutes Atem finally retreated flopping down onto his back trying to catch his breath back "T-thank you L-Loretta...that was amazing" he said between breaths , watching his chest slowly move up & down Loretta moved onto her side so that her head was on the top part of his chest, kissing her forehead "I Love you Loretta" he cooed as he finally got his breath back, caressing the side of her face. Being in a playful mood it was now her turn as she kissed the side of his neck moving up towards his ear "Argh Earrings" she snorted as she removed them, sucking on his left lobe "Hey..."
