Harry Potter/Gorillaz Challenge

Hey folks! It's me, Uchiha ninja. Anyone who's bothered to read my authors notes by now knows I am a big AC/DC fan. Well, that's not all. Actually, it barely encompases my love of music. Music in all it's myriad forms and ways has always drawn me like a moth to a flame. That being said, I have as much musical talent as a drunken chimpanzee. Sigh. Oh well. Anywho, what brought this up was I was lying on my bed last night fuming over the constant interruptions as I tried to complete my next chapter of Thunderstruck. I was listening to my Gorillaz Demon Days CD for the thousandth time when a sudden image struck me. The track was Dare and the image involved the video where Noodle was dancing around her room. Only this time, Harry was dancing along with her. So I thought, "Hey, that would make a cool story."

Then I looked back at my notebook Thunderstruck is being written on and reconsidered. I don't have the time to take on a whole new story what with the changes in my work schedule (2:30 pm to 11"00 pm). The only private time I have on the computer is when my sister leaves for work and she has very irregular hours that change weekly. I live with one of my sisters and her six year-old daughter. By the time I wake up in the morning (say around 10:00 am) she's already up and getting ready with the tv blaring and her daughter running around yelling. I need silence to write and type. By the time they leave, I have to start getting ready for work. When I get home, I'm to tired and sleepy to do much of anything.

So I was glaring accusingly at my notebook when I remembered something. I had seen authors issue challenges on but never paid much attention to them before. So I decided to issue my own challenge. Luckily my sister is at work this weekend and I can post this and get some writing done.

So here it is. I challenge anyone willing to meet it to write a Harry Potter/Gorillaz crossover. First off, it has to be a Harry/Noodle pairing set during Harry's fifth year at Hogwarts. They can meet anyway you desire so long as Harry is living with the Dursleys when they first meet. Whether or not Harry stays with them is completely up to you. Second, Harry must continue to go to Hogwarts. His magical education is very important. How would they keep in touch? Hedwig? The mirrors Sirius had given Harry? Third, Noodle has no magic at all. Think of how the wizarding world would react to find out Harry was in love with a complete muggle. How would Noodle feel finding out the guy she has a crush on was a wizard? What would the rest of the Gorillaz do? Would they accidentally reveal the existence of magic to the muggle world? How would the muggle media react to finding out that one of the great musical icons of this generation had a secret crush? The speculation, the rumors. Just think of the possibilities. Finally, the Gorillaz music has to be featured in the story. Maybe Harry has an Ipod that works in Hogwarts and he listens to their music as he goes about his day and dreams of Noddle.

Well, I guess that's just about it. I just hope this gives you all something to think about. I may write my own should I find the time to do so. But for now, this will just have to do. See ya all later!
