A/N: Read and review!! And of course, enjoy.

Three words: I love you. Why were they so hard to say? How many times had he had the opportunity, wanted to, and yet denied himself? He was always rationalizing, telling himself why he shouldn't.

'She's so young, so innocent, I can't sully her purity', because he knew that those three little words would lead to more, much more. 'She doesn't feel the same.' She couldn't, it was unfathomable. 'She's my best friend.'

There it was, the real reason and the only reason he hadn't told her. He was afraid, afraid that it would ruin their friendship, afraid she'd hate him later, afraid of loosing her. So he never told her, kept it bottled up inside, always threatening to explode at a moments notice; the touch of her hand, her smile, a friendly hug.

Now, there was no turning back, he would never see her again. His beautiful Rose stuck in an alternate reality and him unable to save her. As he looked at her through watery eyes he gathered the courage and began to speak.

"And I suppose, if it's my last chance to say it." He swallowed, chocking back tears, "Rose Tyler…"

Suddenly the image cut out and he was left alone, standing in the middle of the TARDIS. Two tears escaped his eyes and cascaded down his cheeks, is throat welled up with more tears, begging to be released.

He closed his eyes, wiping the tears away with his hands, sliding them down his cheeks in anguish.

"I love you."
