"Wow, you guys sure are ugly, even worse than Beowolves." The girl with the red hood said as she stared at the band of orcs. She looked completely unarmed, which was already insane enough in the best of times, but considering that she was on the plains in the middle of nowhere, it was even more foolhardy than usual.

Aragorn had a million and one things on his mind right now, but the first and foremost thought was How in the name of Eru did she get out here?!

The leading orc sneered. "Is the little girl mocking us? Let's see if you'll be as noisy...in our stomachs!"

Legolas was already in front of Aragorn as the three of charged towards the group of orcs, but the Ranger knew with a sinking feeling in his heart that they were already too late. Just a little girl, an innocent, so young to...

...die?

The orcs leapt forward, eager to catch their prey.

All they got for their troubles were a few red rose petals.

Aragorn looked up and saw her. How in the world had she jumped so high? She had rounded ears, so she couldn't be an elf, but she had just jumped..!

The girl pulled out an odd contraption from behind her back, and somehow, orc brains started splattering. Some kind of ranged weapon, perhaps? With a deft twist, she lightly landed on her feet. She pulled on a lever, and with whirring sounds, her weapon(?) transformed into a scythe.

"By the stones," Gimli stared, before he axed an escaping orc. "How?"

What happened next was a blur to Aragorn's eyes. All he saw clearly were flashes of red and black and more red as orcs died left, right, and center.

When she was done, all there was left were curious bits of material scattered among a pile of dead orc bodies.

The little girl in the red hood looked up and finally seemed to notice them.

"Oh, um, hi. Uh, yeah, I think I'm kinda lost, so could you please tell me where I am? And also, there's two little guys, about this tall," she waved her hand horizontally about chest height, "tied up over there. Do you guys have any idea what to do with them? They seem very harmless, so, uh." Her silver eyes were both earnest and puzzled in equal measure.

None of them had a response for her at the moment, and just resorted to half-gaping at her.

(Except for Legolas. Elves were too dignified to gape, although his mouth was open just a bit.)

Author's Notes: Yeah...this is kind of what happens when I rewatch Lord of the Rings, and then listen to Red Like Roses on infinite repeat. Strange crossovers occur in my brain. Really though, just imagine the "Red" trailer, except the fact that Ruby is killing orcs. You have to admit, that's pretty damn badass.

Actually, I wasn't too sure about posting this, but hey, I just started typing it, and it seems such a waste if I don't post it, so here it is.

One of the reasons I'm not too sure about this fic is the fact that there is so little RWBY canon at the moment, considering that each episode is less than ten minutes long and there's only like 15 episodes so far. I don't usually like to post fics on canons that are not complete, or at least have a large chunk of solid facts already.

But hey. Giant sniper rifle scythe killing orcs wielded by a teenage girl. Can't really get any better than that.

I'm so tempted now to write more of this, but am not too sure. Some bits are just too good to resist (Witch-King:"No man may kill me!" Weiss: "How dare you!")

Yeah.
