Just discovered that I wrote this, a while back. It's a small family drabble.
Timmy screamed "MUMMY!" as he toddled over with tears running down his cheeks towards Lisbon. Lisbon put down her iced tea onto the table before scooping him onto her lap. "What's wrong honey?" she cooed as she let him press his face into her shoulder. "Ben hit me!" he hiccuped.
"Well honey, you shouldn't have stole his truck without asking"
"But, he wasn't playing with it"
"Timmy, what do I always say?"
"Always ask before taking things"
"Thats right, I bet he would let you play with it if you asked nicely"
"But Mummy, Daddy always takes things without asking."
"And Daddy always gets told off by mummy for it"
"Hee hee, Daddy is naughty"
"Yes, Daddy is very naughty sometimes"
"Hey, I heard that!" Jane shouted from the barbeque.
"Well, you are!" Lisbon remarked as she stuck her tongue out at Jane. "Timmy, why don't you go and ask Ben if you can play together with the trucks and I'll go and make you some lemonade."
"Yes, please, Love you mummy" Timmy replied, kissed Lisbon on the cheek and ran off to go and ask Ben if they can play with his toys.
"See, told you that you would be a great mother" Jane said as he walked away from the barbeque to circle his arms around Lisbon. "Well, of course, I would be. I had plenty of practice with you" Lisbon laughed.
"And whats that supposed to mean" Jane scowled.
"Well, I've raised my brothers and you acted like a 5 year old most of the time, we've known each other." Lisbon chuckled.
"Fair enough. But never forget, Lisbon, that I'm still so grateful that you agreed to spend the rest of your life with me, including having my children."
"Well, I had no choice did I? You stole my heart from the start" Lisbon smiled at Jane as she finished off making the lemonade.
"I don't deserve you" Jane mumbled into her neck.
"Yeah, I know, but here we are." Lisbon remarked. She turned and gave Jane a kiss. "Got to go and give Timmy some lemonade that I promised. Hope that this one takes after me" As Lisbon lovingly stroked her small bump.
"Hmmm" Jane replied.
"Jane, let me go"
"But, I'm comfy"
Lisbon chuckled. "Yeah, but you need to go back to the bbq before you burn everything. Jane released her and a huge kiss and scampered back to the barbeque. Lisbon picked up the tray and made her way towards the kids.
