the Sun, the Moon, and the Sea

The waves of the shore splashed against the sharp pointed rocks, the waves have made over time. The sea was not ready to be told to sleep but the moon above my head said otherwise. My bare feet dug deeper into the sand beneath them. The cold sea water came past my toes, sending a shiver up my spine. The song of the sea whisked past the ears and into the trees behind to blend with the song of the night, creating a peace mellifluous to hear. The stars were glamorise in the sky and lustrous on the sea. Reaching down I picked up a shell. It was smoothed over from the sea and a vibrant pink, holding it up against the luminescent light of the full moon. The moon never glowed as bright as the sun or made the sea look blue. It made the sea silver in its light.

Dawn came upon creating an upside down rainbow of colors. First the light of white to settle from pink into a red, orange, and yellow. Further off would be a sliver of a green and blue then to a dark started purple where the last of the moon's song lay. The water would come up to my knees bringing with it another song, not to sing with night but to sing with day. A steady loving song but not as addicting as the night sea song.

The water splashed and hissed against the creature. Its hooves stomped at the water as it emerged from the water at a slow and steady pace. Water horse is what people would breath before it would kill, eat and drag them into the sea. I know better. It is not called a water horse. A kelpie is what it is and for one to never forget. The kelpie this time was in his horse form. A coat golden red from the sun and blue silver eyes form the moon. Then it turned. The most beautiful thing one has ever seen that it could never be painted, pictured, or written. One moment a horse with a black sea covered main and tail with sharp teeth that would tear into any animal it would happen to find. The next a man with long black hair and a dark golden tan skin with straight white teeth and silver blue eyes.

I resisted the urge to run or jump or even breathe. One should never run from a predator and you could see it in his silver sea blue eyes that he was not human. His sun basked skin and night black hair made him all the more beautiful but his eyes were like the moon silver sea. I closed my eyes feeling the heavy gaze from his. The Golden Blood Horse was his name people have given him throughout the years. He took no move out of the sun dipped sea to the moon caressed land. All he did was hold out his hand. A human hand, long and spindly with not a single mark.

I had forgotten long ago why I was there. I walked forward towards that man, horse, kelpie with not an ounce of restraint. The water was up to his waist Then my forearms. I took his hand with no hesitation even as he lead me deeper into the sea. Even as it was over my head I did not struggle for he was making me one with the sun, the moon, and the sea.

I know this was short but I wanted something to start out. This is my fist time ever putting a story to the public and I want to. I hoped a short story would get me started. I have a lot of stories I wish to share and would like to hear your advice. I might not be the best a grammar or spelling but I try my best and have my friend/editor look it over before putting any up. I hope to put more up so if you like this I think you might like more of what I've written. FYI... this was made a while ago so since then my written has gotten far better. Thanks for reading and I hope to read you comments to improve on my writing. ~Jewels Wolf~
