Oh snap. Look, I did something other than 86/362

In honor of the upcoming Sukka Weekend, I present this thing that I finally fleshed out. It was only dialog for about 10 months. I am the queen of fandom hopping.

Sorry it's short! But maybe I can write one or two more chapters for the actual weekend! I'll be working crazy hours this actual weekend, so enjoy your Sukka Weekend Eve present.

I don't own anything.

On a lush green cliff overlooking a bay, a (now outdated) Firenation War Balloon sat idly. About ten minutes down a slightly worn path, Sokka lay in the grass with Suki cuddled into his side. The grass tickled his bare torso as the blades were pushed by the breeze. His girlfriend had a hand on his chest, teasing his skin with feather light touches.

"You know, Suki. I might just be the luckiest guy in the world."

She giggled. "Why's that?"

"It's a cloudless day, the war is over, I'm holding you in my arms…" He turned his head to gaze at her. The breeze floated through her hair, while the sky casted a magical background. Sokka wished he was a better painter so he could capture the moment. She raised herself on an arm and they shared an eskimo kiss.

She lay back down beside him and cherished the feel of his body so close. She knew the world would be tearing them apart soon. She promised her warriors she would be back to work when Sokka's leg healed. Katara gave him until the end of the week before he was completely healed...

"It can't last forever though." She said, closing her eyes.

"You're right..." He held a tone of resignation, "It'll probably rain later today."

She lightly swatted his chest. "Not what I meant." They both smiled nonetheless.

"About the war?" She nodded against his shoulder. "We might still have a long way to go with balancing the nations, but… at least I can still hold you in my arms…"

After a beat, she replied, "I have a duty to my warriors."

Sokka sat up, bring Suki with him. "What are you saying?" He watched her look out to the bay before turning back to him.

"That we may… be apart for a while…"

"Why is it that whenever we finally find each other, it never lasts?" he asked sadly, looking at her beautiful face.

She put a hand to his cheek, "So we try harder to be together."

He took her hand from his face and kissed her palm. "I'm your boomerang." He promised, smiling bitter-sweetly at his joke.

She crawled onto lap and kissed him. The two still had a couple days to bask in their togetherness.

Short, but okay?

Lemme know what you think. This was my first time writing for A:TLA
