When I See You
The first time he saw her…really saw her, was in his seventh year. She had copper colored hair, blackish brown eyes, slender stature, and a fragile look. And she acted that way too, she was shy around people, had a small group of friends, never stood out in group, was average at studies, hardly interested in Quidditch, she was one of those girls whom you wouldn't look twice at. And that was what James had been doing…not looking at her twice.
One evening, he had headed to meet Hagrid, he had dropped Care of Magical Creatures in his sixth year, but he managed to meet him as much as possible though. Hagrid wanted to him some plants he had planted, hence they headed out into his backyard, and there she was of course. Feeling strangely attracted toward her, he watched her stroke the Hippogriff. Her whole face seemed to have lit up, and she continued to whisper things to the beast. He watched her in fascination, the way her lips moved, making him want to hear her voice.
Just then, feeling her look on him, her eyes met his. She looked surprised, and then a pink blush started spreading across her cheeks. She looked away, and stroked the Hippogriff again; then picked up her bag, which lay on the ground, a few feet away from her.
"Bye Hagrid," she spoke, sounding exhilarated and then with a look at James, she walked away.
"Who's she?" James asked.
"That's Hailey Rider, best in the 'ear." Hagrid sounded proud.
"Hailey…" James tested her name. For some weird reason, it felt perfect when he said it. Also, he wanted to get to know her, learn everything about her…and for the very same reason, he wanted to be with her.
