Just a little story I felt like writing because I felt that Misa Misa never got the attention from Light that she wanted. Might be lime later on.

Misa was tired. She was sitting in bed, the lamp casting a gentle glow on the walls. It was well past 1 a.m., but Light still hadn't come up. He was still working, trying to catch someone that Light would never catch. He was helping Ryuzaki catch Kira. But what Ryuzaki didn't know, but it was what he thought, was that Light was Kira. And Light would never just give himself up to him. So why was he trying so hard to keep up the illusion that Kira was out there. Surely L would still believe in it if Light took some time of to spend with his girlfriend. But no, Light has to spend all of his time working with L. It was like Light preferred being with L instead of her.

Misa got out of bed, and walked out the door. She had thought about throwing on her nightgown, but figured that if she wanted Light to come back with her, she would have to use every ounce of her sex appeal. It was a quiet elevator ride down to the floor that the Kira Investigation team were using as their main base. Many thoughts ran through her mind during the quiet ride. Does Light still need me? Why doesn't he ever kiss me, or even hug me? Even in private he won't embrace me.

When the door opened, she walked down the hall to the man of her dreams. She took a deep breath, and slowly opened the door. It was dark inside, the only light coming from the computers inside. Light and L were both sitting hunched over some notes. He didn't notice her at all. "Light," she called out to him," come to bed. You promised you'd take time off to spend with me." Light didn't even bother looking up"I can't Misa. I have too much work to do at the moment. I'm sorry, but work comes first." Misa frowned. She could feel tears pricking at her eyes. "Just go with her." Misa looked up in shock. L was helping her. Light seemed stunned. "But L, I need to-" L cut him off. "Light, you need some time off. Besides," he turned to her and smiled, "I think she needs you more than I do."

Light sighed, and gingerly stood up. He followed Misa, who was at the moment smiling bigger then she had in the past week combined, into the elevator. He had a look on his face that said "stop bothering me." But Misa was blind to it. Finally, he spoke. "Misa, I told you that I need to spend all my time working on the Kira case. I can't have them thinking that it doesn't matter to me anymore." Misa stared at the ground, and didn't say a word until the elevator door opened. "I'm sorry." Light just sighed, and led the way into her room.

Misa laid down on her bed, and gestured for Light to join her. Light sighed, then reluctantly sat down. "Misa, I can't be here." Misa grabbed his arm. "Light, you haven't kissed me, hugged me, or even told me that you needed me in over three weeks." She looked up at him with hunger in her eyes. "Take me."

Light quickly stood up. "Misa, I can't do that. If L hears..." Misa frowned. "Light, when most guys are asked by a pop artist/model, they would kill their own families for it. What's wrong with you?" Light just sighed. "I can't let L think that I'm wasting time up here." Misa gasped. Wasting time! Misa started crying. Light sighed. "Would it make you happy if I spend the night with you?" Misa brightened. "Of course." She laid down on the bed, and Light laid next to her. She quickly fell asleep.

When she woke an hour later, he was gone.
