"Once again all I do is run errands for people. You would think that I could more than that but no." I muttered as I headed in what I hoped was the direction of the Izzet Guildmage. At least according to the roughly drawn map it was but I'd never been very good at finding my way around the maze that was Ravnica.
It wasn't until I ended up choosing to ask for clearer directions than this hopeless excuse for a map that I finally found someone willing to help me. It wasn't until they led me to the door for the Izzet guildmage that I let out a sigh, glancing at the door before I turned back to thank my rescuer only to see the back of them. I blinked as they hurried away and after a shrug I turned back to the door. Politely knocking on it produced no anwer so I tried again, a little louder.
When no one answered I shook my head, wondering if I should just slip the scroll under the door. Once I noticed there was no gap I tapped my foot, slightly annoyed. This time I reached for the doorknob and to my surprise, and slight embarrassment I found the door unlocked.
With a tiny smile I stepped inside the room and once I closed the door quietly behind me I turned back around. "Hello? Guildmage Zarek?" I called out but all I received was silence. Getting a little frustrated I decided that I would just leave the document on the table and come back at a later date. Finding a table however proved to be a problem in itself when I saw the amount of test tubes and other scientific equipment covering every available inch of the room.
"He could do with hiring a cleaner. How does he even find anything in this mess? You can't even see the floor. Assuming there is one." I muttered to myself, pushing my ponytail out of my face before I started to wander the room. I walked the entire length of the room in a few minutes being very careful not to trip over anything lying on the floor. But after another long search I started to mutter some very choice words under my breath unable to find a single inch of table that I could leave the parchment on. Giving up I started to head back to the door though just as I reached it l I heard a knock and I blinked, opening the door to find...no one.
"Okay that is not funny. I'm trying to work here." I grumbled, slamming the door shut. When I heard the knocking again I listened a little more carefully and this time I realized it seemed to be coming from the window to my left. Now very confused I headed towards it not even watching my footing and I stumbled almost immediately, dropping the parchment in my haste to regain my footing. I did though not without a sudden and very high pitched shriek.
Shaking my head I stomped towards the window and with a quick grab I pulled the curtains apart to reveal...nothing other than multiple clouds darkening the sky.
"Oh for the love of..." I trailed off once something loomed into view and I stared as a man with white streaks in his hair leaned forward and very casually knocked on the window. This time I let out a scream and he blinked back at me from the other side of the window, giving me a tiny wave before he reached for the window. With a click it swung open and he stepped casually inside, staring at me with one raised eyebrow as I stared at him, eyes wide and unblinking. "How did you...?" I swallowed when he scratched his beard, pausing only to lock the window behind him.
