WOOOOOOHHHHHH IT'S A ONE-SHOT!
Oh no.
Teddy Lupin was staring at his new born child, Remus Andromeda Lupin, who he had just taken to the doctors for his first check-up. His wife, Victoire Weasley, had stayed at home.
And the results of the check-up were not good.
Teddy was pacing back and forth in the kitchen his hair bright blue, staring at Remus. Remus smiled back up at him from his cot, completely unaware to the hell he had just been sentenced too. Teddy looked at his tiny hands and adorably chubby face and smiled a forced smile. This is supposed to be impossible.
Victoire finally came downstairs and turned into the kitchen. She saw her husband pacing in the kitchen, tears falling down his face, and rushed over to him. "What's wrong sweetie?" Teddy looked up at her. "It-It's impossible…my metamorphmagus gene is supposed to cancel it out…" He mumbled.
"What?" Victoire asked. Teddy sighed and wiped a tear from his cheek. "Victoire…Remus is ill." He said simply. Victoire understood immediately and jumped into Teddy's arms. "Its s-supposed to b-b-be impossible…" She said in between sobs. "I know." Teddy replied, stroking her hair. Teddy guided her to the lounge room and helped her onto the couch before going back into the kitchen and picking Remus up from his cot. Teddy brought Remus onto the couch opposite Victore and looked at her seriously.
"You know he might not survive. "Teddy said carefully. Victoire nodded solemnly. "I do know that, Teddy. But if he does survive, he will grow up to be a great man… just like you." Teddy smiled a tearful smile. "And my father before me." Victoire nodded, her slivery-blonde hair stuck to her face by her now drying tears. "And your father before you."
"How many days till' the full moon?" Victoire asked after they had both calmed down. "Five." Teddy answered honestly. His mood and senses were affected by the full moon, so he always kept a moon chart with him. But these simple side effects of the moon were nothing compared to what his father had dealt with, or what his own son was going to deal with.
Teddy stood up, his hair flicking through multiple colours before settling on a deep violet colour. He placed Remus in Victoire's arms and smiled. "We can get through this." She said. "I know we can." Teddy replied. He walked to the window and stared at the moon, so big and beautiful but also something he knew he would come to hate. But then again, was there really anyone to blame but himself?
Victoire stood up carefully and joined him. "You know; it isn't the moons fault. And it certainly isn't yours." She told him. It was as though she could read his mind. "But…I knew my dad was a werewolf." Teddy said. "Yes, but you didn't know it could be passed on via you." Victoire replied. "Therefore, it is not your fault. And even if you had known, I wouldn't have blamed you…" Teddy simply nodded and placed his head on her shoulder. He stared down at Remus, so small and delicate in his mother's arms, and smiled. They were a family. They can, and will, get through this.
I know that this kinda sucked but oh well! Remember to review, it motivates me to write more!
