He remembers hearing of her loss,
remembers thinking
'Not again'
hears the ache of an organ that used to exist,
feels the last remnants of a loving heart go out,
wonders if they truly knew of his loss,
wonders if they ever would think of looking for him here,
caught in a stolen moment
in a barn
He hears the swishing of the waves outside,
catches the whispers of children
and hopes for their best
with all of the energy his little heart can muster.
