"Watson" he shouted from the kitchen. No reply, he turned to towards the stairs putting all his senses in use to see if he could locate her.
"WATSON" he yelled again, much more worried and stressed. He dropped the tea bags and ran up the stairs two steps at a time. Scared and worried he barged into her room, finding her in a deep sleep. He released a sigh of relief and quietly sat down on the side of her bed, he lightly touched her shoulder and she rolled round to face him, eyes still closed. She groaned and then spoke softly
"Sherlock…. That you?" she slowly opened her eyes, "is everything alright?" she seemed a little worried.
"I was scared, you didn't reply when I called out your name, I wasn't sure if you were even here" he was looking at the floor when he said this. Joan sat up holding his hand which he had put on her shoulder. He looked at her and smiled.
Oh Joan, why are you so beautiful, so smart and so amazing. I wish I could kiss you right now. Sherlock thought as he stared at her beautiful face smiling back at him. If he didn't say something then they might have stayed like that all day.
"What were you dreaming about, my dear Watson?" he said stroking her hair out of her eyes.
"Us"
"Us? What Happened?" he wanted to know everything, was it good or bad, was she happy about the dream.
"I had gotten kidnapped, but you saved me, you promised to save me and you did" a small tear ran down her check, which he wiped away gently with his thumb.
"I was so scared, but you came in breaking down the door, you knocked out three men single handed just for me, you hugged me and told me you would never let that happen again and-" she got cut off.
Sherlock had hugged her, practically crying into her shoulder, she hugged him back. He leaned his head and whispered to her.
"I will never, ever let you be taken from me. You are everything I've got; nobody is going to take that away from me." He sounded so innocent, so wise and kind. It was like he was pouring his heart into his words. Joan had started to cry now carefully hugging him as best she could, wishing they could be closer, wishing to be more than just friends.
"I was happy when I woke up because we were back here, in the brownstone, you were saying… umm never mind" she was about to pull away but his voice stopped her, they had both stopped crying.
"What is it Watson, what will I have to say to make the worst of days better, to make you smile? "He had pulled back, arms still around her but head right in front of her staring into her eyes. She nearly choked on her words, too scared to say but his warming eyes got them out. With a pause she smiled then opened her mouth.
"You said that you... you loved me, and you kissed me" she closed her eyes embarrassed and shy.
He leaned in ever closer, not that it was possible and he softly and sweetly spoke.
"My dear Joan you dream speaks with much truth. I have loved you for so long now; I just want to see your beautiful smile." He seemed heart broken and yet he had never been happier to admit his feelings.
She was smiling so much, her mouth hurt. Her mind was so lost to what to do but luckily her heart took over.
"I love you too, Sherlock-"it was all he needed. He had kissed her, long and deep. It felt like their hearts had entwined and had finally come together. The star crossed lovers were finally one, drifting through the galaxy of love.
