A/N: Here's a tiny one shot that I felt like writing. It's my first Jello or Jisbon peice of fiction so be kind in your reviews. I do not own The Mentalist or any of it's characters no matter how much I wish for it to happen! Anyway enjoy! Lee x
"What the hell Jane?!" Lisbon was standing in her normal stance: feet shoulder-width apart, hands on hips and about to scream at her blonde consultant. Basically just another day in the office for them.
"What are you shouting about, dear Teresa?" Jane had been messing around with her all morning and this was the tip of the iceberg. She had went to the cafe opposite the Headquarters to get a sandwich and by the time she got back, Jane had sprinkled glitter and confetti all over her office's floor. Van Pelt had warned him against doing this but Rigsby had encouraged him, Cho had stayed neutral but there was a slight grin at the sides of his mouth when he saw the end results.
"You know that if you have not cleaned all of this up by the end of today I'll throw the chair out!"
Jane protectivly gripped onto his couch and smiled at her.
"You wouldn't do that to me."
"Care to expand on that?"
"You don't want to be the reason that I have to get therapy again, do you?" He raised his eyebrow at her.
"Bite me Jane!"
"I wouldn't object to biting you if that's really what you like men doing to you." He got a lot of entertainment from the blush that crept across her cheeks when he said that.
"Oh my god, just clean my office since it was you that did it!"
"Where's the proof?"
"The fact that you are the only person stupid enough to do it, is sort of an indication don't you think?"
Jane purposefully stroked his couch a few times then walked over to Lisbon's office, put his hand under her desk and pulled out a balloon. On it there was "Happy Birthday" written on it. Jane handed it to Lisbon, who looked at it cofused,
"Jane my birthday isn't until tomorrow."
"No it's today!"
"Jane I know when my own birthday is!"
"Okay so it isn't the actual day you were born on but today is a Friday so I thought it would be nice to celebrate today instead of on a Saturday."
"We're working, in case you didn't realise."
"Okay what about after work, if we really enjoy ourselves then the party can carry on all weekend?"
"Fine as long as you clear this up before hand!"
"Trust me Teresa."
"No." He turned to walk away but instead of opening the door to the bullpen, he locked it.
"Jane..." He placed a finger on her lips. She felt a warmth of excitement pass through her lips into her body. He grinned and placed a feather-light kiss to her lips. She couldn't believe that he had just did that but as he was about to unlock the door she grabbed his arm. He turned to face her with that same dazzling smile on his face as she wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him again. They broke apart when they needed air and stood there, looking at each other.
"Thank you for the balloon Patrick." He kissed the tip of her nose and walked away. Just before he sat down on his couch he called back to her,
"By the way Teresa I don't care that you lied by saying your birthday is tomorrow. I know it is today!" She smiled at him, hoping that sometime this weekend it could just be the two of them.
The End. Review please.
