Okay so this is my first fanfiction. I know it is very short but I am trying to get a feel for writing. So slowly over time I will produce longer and longer stories but please no flames. I really did try but it is my first one so I hope it is okay. This takes place right after Jules gets shot and this is just something I thought of what could happen one day in the hospital.
"Stop right there Sam." Nurse Betty said noticing the regular Sam Braddock trying to sneak pass. "You know it is past visiting hours."
"I just got off work. Come on Miss. Betty. Just give me ten minutes to tuck her in." Sam begged giving her a smile that could melt any heart. "I need to see my baby."
"Well, I can't tell you that I am going to get coffee and be away for at least twenty minutes." Betty smiled watching him run to his "baby's" room. "That boy is head over heels for her." Another nurse said watching him leave handing Betty a steaming cup of coffee.
Glancing into her dimly lit room Sam smiled at the sight of his baby clutching her cell phone waiting for Sam to call. Watching the rise and fall of her chest made something inside him jump. He wasn't sure what it was but it was a good feeling of what the future might hold. Getting off way too late to call and deeply missing her Sam had to stop by the hospital to smooth over the pains of missing Jules. It had been a couple of days since they had last seen each other due to work and her physical therapy so the need to see each other was overwhelming the two of them. Opening and closing the door ever so softly Sam walked around to see if Jules was still awake waiting for him and even though she wasn't she was clutching the phone as if her life depended on it.
"Jules," Sam whispered pushing a strand of hair behind her ear. "I am here now. I know it has been a couple of days but I have missed you so much."
"I didn't know you were coming," Jules whispered as her eyes fluttered open. "It is a very nice surprise."
"Are you tired? It is nearly three A.M" Sam whispered laughing a little as Jules struggled to keep her eyes open and gave an adorable half nod. "Go back to sleep, sweetheart."
"Don't leave."
"I am not leaving and when you wake up I will be right here. I will never leave your side." Sam said climbing into bed with her. Turning over Jules placed her head and hand on his strong chest falling into a perfect breathing rhythm. Feeling safe and content for the first time since being shot she could relax and sleep soundly. To Sam this was heaven, certainly not being in a hospital bed but having her fall asleep on his chest, being able to kiss the top of her head and protect her the way he should have on that horrible day. It was not very long until both of them fell into a very peaceful sleep.
"Are you going to wake them up?"
"Nah, he has missed her and she hasn't slept that good since she came in. Just leave them be, Betty."
Is it okay or should I just go back to reading and stop writing?
