WHAT ARE THEY DOING THERE?
RRRIIINNGGG!
"Hello?" The childish voice of a three-year old Domyouji Tsukasa answered the phone in a soft voice.
"Hello, Tsukasa? Is Okaasan there? I need to talk to her." His older sister, eight-year old, Domyouji Tsubaki asked over the phone. She was in school but she sounded agitated.
"She's busy," Tsukasa informed his sister in the same soft voice.
"Why? I need to talk to her – it's important. Can I talk to Tama?"
"She's busy too."
"They're both busy?? What are they doing?" Tsubaki sounded more anxious than ever.
"They're talking to the please-men."
"Please-men? What 'please-men'? Why are there policemen in our house? Has something happened? What are the policemen doing there?"
"They're talking to the fire people."
"Fire people?? Tsukasa, what is happening? Maybe I should go home. What are the fire people doing at our house?"
Suddenly, a deafening sound interrupted their conversation. The phone line and house walls shook with the sound.
"Tsukasa, what is that???"
"Helicopters."
"Helicopters? Why?"
"I don't know – maybe Otousan is here."
"Otousan?" Tsubaki sounded incredulous and frowned deeper. "What would he be doing there?"
"To bring the sol-ders..."
"Tsukasa, you had better tell me what is happening! Why are there policemen, soldiers and fire people in there? What are they doing??? Answer me right now!"
"Looking for me." Tsukasa whispered.
