Heaven in Sight-an AR fic.

Light. Alex could see the light. Not only could he see it but also he could feel it; soft, comforting, like a mother's embrace. A mother he never had. It filled his senses, completely overwhelming him. He let it; it was like floating on a cloud he thought, as he seemed to grow lighter with every second.

Thump thump. Thump thump. Thump thump.

Alex wanted to lift his head so he could possibly tell where the noise was coming from but found he couldn't. His will wasn't strong enough.

Thump thump. Thump thump. Thump thump.

Again he heard the noise, the floating sensation began to fade. No! He enjoyed flying, he wanted to continue, something, or someone was just ahead of him, waiting for him!

Thump thump. Thump thump. Thump thump.

Annoying, that was what the sound was. Wait, annoying? That wasn't the right feeling…

Then another feeling began; one that felt like he was being sucked backwards, falling even, through a very long tunnel. No! He thought again. The young spy could see two shapes in the distance, growing smaller every second.

Thump thump. Thump thump. Thump thump.

Pain, in his chest. The light was fading and the darkness was closing in. Voices. Was he going mad? He thought he might be, the pain was so intense. " Just above the heart, I don't think he's going to make it."

"Look, we got the heart started, now we just have to…" the voices faded, along with Alex's sense of comprehension. Except for the pain. That remained.
