"TIFFANY ZHANG WHAT IN ABSOLUTE HADES ARE YOU DOING?" Hazel Levesque-Zhang yelled as she pulled her 7 year old daughter from the air.

"Tiffan-arghhh!" the last part coming from Hazel after the child she was holding transformed from a young dragon in a human girl again.

"What, Mom?" her daughter asked, giggling.

"You know that you shouldn`t be transforming without your father here!" Hazel exclaimed. Tiffany was still new to shape-shifting and Frank needed to be there to help her, in case something happened, like when she was 3 and she was half dog, or the time she had a lion's body, or something equally horrific.

Tiffany sighed. She loved being able to be whatever she wanted, although her mom always saw it as dangerous. Hazel pulled her inside just as Frank was getting home. She left Tiffany sitting in the living room, while Hazel left to talk to her husband.

"Hello." Hazel said curtly, clearly angry.

Frank sighed. "What did she do today?" he said as he hung up his coat.

"Turned into a dragon and started flying around without my permission."

"Ah" Frank said as if this was a perfectly normal occurrence for any child. "Let me talk to her."

"She's all yours" Hazel said. She relaxed after her husband kissed her hair lightly and walked to the living room. She went upstairs to bed, knowing fully well that Frank was not going to give their daughter any kind of punishment. She smiled to herself. Fathers.

In the living room, Tiffany was patiently drawing birds on a large notepad when she saw her dad walk in the room. "Daddy!" she exclaimed as she ran up to give him a hug.

"Listen, Tiff," Frank said sternly "We need to have a talk".

"Ok!" she giggled as she went to sit down on the couch. Her father sat on the loveseat opposite her.

"Your mom told me that you did something bad today." He said to her.

She squirmed in her seat and said quietly "Yes."

"What did you do, Tiff?"

"I went in the back yard and shifted." She said hanging her head in shame.

"Without mom's permission?" Frank asked.

She nodded her head.

"You know you shouldn't have done that." He replied sternly, even though he looked like a giant panda bear, not at all scary or mean.

Tiffany looked up at him with big brown eyes, and his heart melted, he never was very angry in the first place.

"Come with me", he said. Father and Daughter walked out to the backyard.

"Let's go somewhere" Frank said as his daughter squealed with joy. "just don't tell your mother, or I'll get in trouble", he reminded her, as they transformed into their favourite animals, dragons, and flew off into the night sky together.

But of course, mother always knows, and Hazel watched from her bedroom window as her family took off into the night, a smile on her face.
