Hello fans of CSI, as you would see on my profile page I generally write for Criminal Minds. However in the past few months after buying season 2 of CSI Las Vegas I come to really like the show. So I decided to write my own CSI fanfiction so if I make a few mistakes I apologize in advance.
This is sort of a play off from the episode "Spellbound" season 6, it was my inspiration.
I don't own CSI
Enjoy
Greg sat in the break room drinking coffee while waiting for the results to come in from the lab from some samples he got from a murder in a bar a day earlier. He managed to get some blood off of the floor and found finger prints on the counter. Money was stolen so it was likely a robbery gone bad. The bartender was shot two times in the chest, the bullets reveled that it was semi-automatic pistol. The lab was busy that night so he had to wait on the lab techs to get around to identifying the DNA. He fingerprints weren't in the system so it was a dead end there.
He sighed and took a sip of the warm coffee, it has been a long night and he wished he could go home and get some sleep. However, lately he had trouble sleeping. He had been having horrible nightmares and he could wake up drenched in sweat and breathing heavily. The dark circles under his eyes were proof of his sleep issues.
He took another sip and Nick came into the break room. "Hey Greggo, how's the case at the bar going?"
"Not too bad, no match on the fingerprints but at least we got some blood for a DNA comparison."
Nick noticed Greg's tired face and that he was he was trying to keep his eyes open. "You alright? You seem pretty tired."
"Yeah…I haven't been sleeping very well lately…"
Nick nodded, "Why not take to Grissom and get a few hours off to get some sleep. It will be a while until the results will come in anyway. I'll call you if anything comes up."
Greg nodded, "Alright."

Grissom did give Greg time off to sleep. Greg was thankful but annoyed that he couldn't focus on a case do to his sleeping problem.
He went home to his apartment and wrapped himself in his blanket when he got into his bed. He sighed and soon enough he fell asleep.
But horrible dreams soon filled him mind again only this time they were more vivid and frightening.
A man…with a gun in his right hand…the sound of a shot being fired…blood on the floor…a man taking money…the man dropped something on his way out…its shiny but it's too dark to see what it is.
Greg shot out of bed with a gasp. Sweat falling from his brow and tears in his eyes. The dream was extremely intense and seemed so real. Like he was truly there. It was the murder at the bar that he saw in his dreams. But then he thought of something…what was that shiny object the man dropped? He looked over at his clock and say he was only asleep for ten minutes. He called Nick.
"Hello?"
"Nick is the crime scene at the bar still pristine?"
"Yeah…why?"
"I think I missed something while I was there. Can you wait for me there?"
"Sure, but hurry ok?"
"Sure." He hung up the phone and quickly got dressed. He rushed out the door and drove back to the bar. But little did he know that he was being watched.
