A/N: I am slightly rewriting this. Not really, but a little, so I'll be re-updating Chapter One as well. Next Saturday. I will try to update every Saturday. Keyword: try.

Preface

She wasn't aware of whom, rather, what he was when they were wed. He decided that it was best for her not to know. It was the fear of her leaving that told him to do such. He warned her that the woods were never safe. She was ecstatic when she told her husband that she was pregnant. He was worried about what the child would turn out like. He pretended that he was happy. She caught on and grew suspicions about where he was running off to every month and return even more battered than he had left.

She threw her questions at him and he swatted them away unanswered. One night, she decided to follow him into the woods, leaving little Robin in the house. She saw the most retched sight in the woods that night. Her husband had transformed into a werewolf, a dangerous, vicious creature that could kill whatever it pleased.

He saw his wife in the woods that night and knew that she knew as she ran back into their little cottage.

Chelsea Watson grabbed her baby and everything that she could think of. Surely, Gabriel will stay in the woods until the moon has set and by then the two of us will be long gone. She sent an owl to Minerva, her cousin –and the only person that she could think of that would know what to do- and close friend, telling her what happened and that she would be at her mum's old cottage in Hogsmeade waiting for her arrival.

Minerva advised her cousin to move out to West Country and live in one of the wizarding villages there. She and Robin could start a new life out by the Forest of Dean and hopefully forget all about Gabriel.

The first place she found was in Tutshill in a wizarding community there. She even was offered a job as a MediWizard for the Tutshill Tornados not too long after they found their new home in Tutshill. Everything started to look brighter for Robin and Chelsea.

It was when Robin was four that things took a turn for the worse. Chelsea was attending a Tornados game and had a neighboring girl in her Hogwarts years watching over Robin while she was at the game. There was a howl in the distance as the moon shone brightly in the night sky. Then, it grew closer and closer until a wolf smashed through the front door. The girl had left to go to the loo and had left Robin downstairs alone when this happened.

Fate really did have a sick sense of humour sometimes.

Because, it was not just any wolf pouncing through the front door of the Watson residence. It was a werewolf who, when in human form, went by the name of Gabriel. The girl came downstairs, frightened by the sight of a wolf leaning over the crib of little Robin Watson. She screamed. Gabriel launched himself at her, killing her in an instant and then biting the little girl, cursing her with a terrible life before running back out the hole in the wall to the forest.
