This song is World Is Chances, it's a really beautiful song and describes Kurts relationship with Finn. Kurt/Finn, one sided. Guess which side. Also Finn/Rachel. Oneshot, since I am in the middle of The Music Is A Mystery.
The day Kurt saw Finn and Rachel kiss was the day his cotton candy pink, Laura Ashley heart stopped. It simply died, died inside his skinny ribs.
He didn't know why he was hurting so much; it wasn't like Finns half smile was even a smile. Because it was adorable, like a soft, brown sugar puppy licking his masters face. But it was a shame, a shame that he was always aiming it a Rachel. And he was breaking Kurt at the same time.
But he still had Mercedes, his Dad and his Mom. At least her woody yet nutty smell of perfume around the house, so he had her memory. So really once you think about it, he has two people in this world. So far, because he still has chances. Chances to make things right.
Kurt took a pen, a pink scented piece of notepaper and took to his white minimal chic dressing table (desks are so passé darling) he started to write a beautiful, poetic letter explaining why they can not be together. Maybe they were never dating, but in his mind they were. Then he realized he was in Glee club and it would be so much more dramatic to do it with a song. A song originally sung by a girl of course, men don't normally sing poetry in a tune.
Then next day at school he slowly walked down the hall, singing softly under his breath. Maybe he had lost the strength to carry on his faith in love. Maybe he was about to fall of the edge, fall off into depression. Maybe he was at the end of his unconditional love that he thought would last forever. Because forever is over.
Someday he will call him, someday he will have a problem (not with Racel of course, shes just SO easy going) and he will call him. But by then that number wont be any good, because he wont even answer. Beacause he has a world of chances.
Turning left he entered the Glee room and instantly raised his hand when Mr. Shue held that little cue.
"Mr Shuester, I have something."
Staring closely at his friends. Or coworkers. Or whatever. Anyway staring at these people he started to sing.
"You've got a face for a smile you know."
