Hello fellow readers, Gomus here. I'm kind of new in writing. I do accept any form of criticism, so try to be open in dropping in your reviews and personal DMs if you would like. I wanted to make my OC some backstory and such in the first few chapters so he would kind of fit into the story so yeah, and I want to apologise if it somewhat feels awkward. Like I said, I am still new to writing. So yeah, here it goes.

Days passed by after the Grimm outbreak. Students did their usual duties and chores for the week. Many of which were talking and discussing about the recent events at the city. And rumors about The White Fang's criminal activities are rising again.

Team RWBY were about to enter Professor Ozpin's office as they heard a loud bang from inside. They were all startled at the sound as they wouldn't have expected that loud of a sound to come from the office, an office that belonged to the headmaster of Beacon Academy. There was a awkward silence between the team and the office door. Yang and Blake just looked at each other and shrug in confusion while Weiss and Ruby was still stunned by the sound.

"Should we wait it out until it's over?" Blake asked deciding to break the silence.

"Naaah, I think we should just barge in and see what's going on for ourselves, besides, we won't know whether or not the commotion that's happening will be over, and besides, we'll just be standing outside the office until who knows when!" Yang replied cheerfully.

"I agree, the blonde for once is right, we should just knock on the door and just head on in." Weiss replied while folding her arms as the blonde brawler narrowed her eyes back at her with a frown.

"Well, if that's what you've all decided. Here goes nothing." Ruby said as she stepped up towards the door and knocked.

"Ah, those must be the girls, come in team RWBY." Ozpin shouted from inside the office. Ruby then opened the door. Scanning the office, Ozpin was sitting behind his desk sipping on his coffee from the white ceramic mug that he usually brings around and she saw a slightly tanned Beacon student wearing a grey beanie with his hand folded into a fist what looks like he had slammed it onto Ozpin's desk. Glynda as usual stood behind the headmaster, this time folding her arms with her crop in hand shaking her head while closing her eyes at the scene.

"Jeez, talk about a really awkward situation huh?" Yang whispered to Ruby as she elbowed her cheeky older sister in the hip.

The student just turned around and looked at each and every one of the members of the team before turning around just to continue rattling on about what he was telling to Ozpin.

"I'm telling you Professor Oz, you're making a mistake, you should think about the safety of the students. We can't just let them wander around freely and risk their lives for something that's not worth it. They are just students just like me for goodness sakes. I don't want them to experience the same fate that happened to me." The student said frustratingly as Ozpin just sighed and placed his mug filled coffee back on his desk.

"With all due respect, I myself would want to protect them with all my power. But this is the time where they can show their true potential as Huntsmen and Huntresses. If they were to stop a criminal activity or a Grimm outbreak that would endanger the lives of innocents, I don't see why they shouldn't just jump right into the action, as long as they return safe and sound it is fine by me." Glynda opened her eyes and narrowed it against Ozpin from behind. Feeling a murderous intent behind him, Ozpin coughed nervously and continued "Besides, from the outcome of recent events, I take it that things went well in the end, isn't that right team RWBY?" Ozpin finished off as he, Glynda and the student turned around to look at the confused awkwardly placed looking team.

"Er.. Yeah.. Hehe.. We really did a number on them." Ruby replied back while placing her arms behind her back while swinging her body left and right embarrassingly. Yang smiled at her sister, while Weiss just placed her hand at the bridge of her nose while Blake just looked at her with a nonchalant look.

"See, nothing to worry about. Now, if you would to excuse me and the team, I have to congratulate them about their accomplishment at the city and Mt. Glenn." Ozpin said to the student. The student just let out a sigh of annoyance and turned around to walk out of the office with an annoyed look on his face. As he was walking out of the office, Ruby noticed that every step he took, she could see smoke rising as he lift each foot, as if he was freezing the floor he stepped on and the room temperature thawing the frozen step that he took immediately. And now that she thought of it, she felt a chill as he passed through the team and out of the office. 'Could this be his semblence?' Ruby thought to herself.

"What's up with him? Why did I feel cold when he walked past me?" Weiss asked the team softly while rubbing her arms. Blake just shrugged in reply.

"I don't know, guess he left a shiver down our spines, eh? Eh?" Yang replied while the rest of team were shaking their heads and placing their hands on their foreheads.

"Thank you for that Miss Xiao Long, now, since you are all here, I want to personally congratulate you girls for risking your lives to protect the city of Vale from the Grimm outbreak." Ozpin said as he raised his mug and took a sip shortly after.

"Well, it's the least we could do since we we're the ones that kind of started the whole thing". Ruby said while scratching the back of her head nervously.

"Or so I've heard from Professor Oobleck. Tell me, how and what really happened that caused you girls, a corgi and Professor Oobleck to emerge from the ground in the middle of the city with Grimm pouring out to the streets?" Ozpin asked while placing his mug to his desk. Glynda raised an eyebrow towards the team while refilling the headmaster's mug.

"Well.. -" Ruby and the team explained to the headmaster. As the team finished explaining, Ozpin just closed his eyes while leaning back on his office chair. The White Fang, Mt. Glenn, dust robberies. It was too much happening in Vale. As much as he wanted to host the upcoming Vytal Festival in Vale, he needed to gain the trust of the Council and convince them that Vale is safe enough of a place to host the Vytal Festival.

"Well girls, thank you for explaining it all in detail on how all of this happened." Ozpin said while standing up.

"Its no problem Professor Ozpin, we're just doing what needs to be done as Huntresses." Ruby replied.

"Soon to be Miss Rose, soon to be." As Ozpin grabbed his cane and walked towards the huge window facing Vale with his arms behind him, cane in hand.

"So uh, what's the deal with that guy we saw earlier on?" Yang asked.

"I guess we should tell them who he is, right Miss Goodwitch?" Ozpin said as he turned half of his body to Glynda while she just nodded.

"Of course headmaster, he is one of our most trained student in Beacon, but due to his past events he is not really coping well with others." Glynda replied as the team looked at her in confusion.

"What do you mean? The fact that he is paranoid about students like us doing outrageous stuff?" Blake asked as her amber eyes shifted in confusion between the headmaster and Glynda.

"All I can say is that he is a second year student, working as hard as he can to graduate to be a proud Huntsmen. But due to events that he had experienced, he is paranoid the way he is as you girls could see for yourselves when entering my office." Ozpin interrupted Glynda before she spoke while staring out of the window. He then continued, "I cannot fully share the details of what happened to him, but if you girls really want to know what happened to him, do try to be friends with him. Due to the events he had experienced, he chooses to be alone. In hopes of not experiencing the same thing from occuring again."

"From what? Breaking up? Getting rejected by the girl of his dreams?" Yang sarcasticly asked while Blake lightly smacked the back of her head.

"No Miss Xiao Long, I'm afraid it's something more tragic than that. As you girls are a fellow student like him I would like to request that you girls try to 'open his heart' as Miss Xiao Long would like to imply." Ozpin said while turning around to grin at Yang while she returned the smile with a cheeky face. The rest of the team just shook their head in disappointment.

"But on a serious note, please try to be understanding when the time comes. I'm afraid he might do something that can cause a scene in our school just to 'let off some steam' as you people say." Glynda said as she placed her glasses in place back onto the bridge of her nose.

"Sounds like a problem child to me, I for one would not like to deal with these kind of people. I have enough of them in my team." Weiss said as she folded her arms and looked at both Yang and Ruby. Yang just shrugged her hands while smiling as if she was innocent, while Ruby pouted back at Weiss.

"We'll see what we can do Professor, but we can't make any promises." Blake replied back to Glynda.

"Good, now then, me and Professor Ozpin would need to discuss on a certain matter. You are all free for the evening, and be sure to rest up for tomorrow. As you may know, there will be my class scheduled for tomorrow, so do so or you will not perform well for it." Glynda said while pointing her crop towards the team as if a mother nagging towards their children.

"Yes 'Mum'.. Oh, what's his name by the way Professor Ozpin?" Yang asked.

"Hartsin, Saabir Hartsin". Ozpin replied with a slightly worried look, as Yang nodded in understanding.

As team RWBY were about to leave the office, Ruby turned around to look at the headmaster one last time, only to catch a glimpse of him closing his eyes and shaking his head as if he had made a mistake. 'Hmm.. I wonder why did Professor Ozpin acted that way. Is it a mistake to send a team like us to make friends with Saabir?' Ruby thought to herself as herself and the team were walking back to their own dorm.

"What's the matter lil sis? Thinking about how 'cool' that guy is?" Yang asked with a grin.

"No Yang. Its just, I'm just curious to know what really caused that guy to be so, alone, to the point where Professor Ozpin personally requested us to try to be friends with him." Ruby pondered while looking down.

"No idea, but I have a feeling that his team isn't doing a good job in interacting with him." Weiss replied.

"We can't be too sure about that Weiss. Either way, we can't just assume that about him." Said back the petite reaper.

Is it because his team exiled him away that's why he is in that way? Or was it because of what Yang really presumed, getting heartbroken by someone he cared so fondly of. The only way they would get to know what's going on with Saabir is to be friends with him to open up.

As they turned the corner of the hallway to reach their dorm, they saw Saabir leaning against the wall next to team JNPR's dorm. Team RWBY just looked each other in confusion and tried to avoid any form of conversation by quickly entering their own dorm.

"Hey Goldilocks, I need a word with you." Saabir said while pushing himself away from the wall.

"Hmm? What for? Do you have a crush on me or something? Whatever it is, the answer is no." Yang replied with a grin.

"No, it's just that- Urgh, nevermind. I wanted to ask something else. But I guess it ain't worth it." He said back while scratching the back of his head with his eyes closed in a annoyed manner. He then proceeded to walk off towards the stairwell that lead a floor above them.

Jaune opened the door only to look at a confused looking Yang while the rest of team RWBY were entering their own dorm.

"Who was that dude that was standing outside our dorm? He seemed kind of cool." Jaune asked while Pyrrha was behind him looking out with him both of them dressed in their sleeping attire.

"Eh, just some second year guy, but I have a feeling he has a crush on me. Guess the boys can't resist this curvy body of mine." Yang said while placing her hands on her hips slowly turning towards him. Jaune continued to stare blankly at Yang with rosy cheeks while Pyrrha covered his eyes with her own hands while pouting at Yang and pulled Jaune back to the dorm, slamming the door behind them. Yang just giggled and entered her own dorm soon after. Only to find the rest of her team preparing for bed. 'Oh well, might as well I turn in for the night as well before Glynda's lesson. Hate to be the one performing badly.' Yang thought to herself.
