Title: Little Lost Girl
Pairing: Rachel Berry & Jesse St. James St. Berry
Summary: This is set after graduation. Rachel got into NYADA. Finn didn't follow her. Kurt chose not to go to be with Blaine. (And Rachel thought he was more than a little nuts.) Rachel goes to her first REAL party at NYU. She gets into trouble and someone comes to her rescue.
Her first college party! Rachel was buzzing with excitement. She had been in New York City just a few weeks and she managed to shed the Lima Loser. She had a fair amount of new friends who were just as talented, driven and egotistical as she was. Luckily they didn't all go to NYADA so she wasn't competing with most of them. At least yet.
With the help of her Roommate and new best friend, Bethany, Rachel Berry dropped her childish wardrobe for something more sophisticated. Beth told her that if she wanted to BE a star, she needed to dress like one first. Tonight she was a black spaghetti strap dress with a v neck top. Rachel wasn't entirely comfortable with the idea but Beth insisted.
Thankfully Beth was a New York City native because Rachel was still getting turned around. Beth led the way to NYU's campus where Beth's boyfriend attended classes. Rachel kept smoothing out her dress and checking to make sure nothing inappropriate was showing. Rachel couldn't believe how many people could fit into one dorm room. It was a floor wide party and the majority of people seemed stuffed into one room. Beth had disappeared some time ago. Just because she was single didn't mean Beth wasn't entitled to making out with her super cute artsy boyfriend. Rachel could entertain herself, at least for a little while.
She ventured out of the room to see what was going on in the other rooms. Most doors were open but only one was interesting enough to make her stop. Rachel stood in the doorway, quiet as a mouse. She was watching the handsome stranger playing a song on his guitar.
"Are you lost?"
His question startled her. She hadn't realized he stopped playing. Her thoughts were on the past. "I'm just...the party." Rachel's body language screamed vulnerable from her fragmented sentence down to the way she was fidgeting with her hands. She wondered if he could hear her heart pounding in her chest. There was something attractive and dark about the stranger. "The door. It was open. I thought you...they said the doors that were..you play really good," Rachel ended in a nervous ramble. It was low but she could hear the guy chuckle. A heat rose to her cheeks almost instantly.
"You can sit down," he said, a smile on his lips as he gestured to what she assumed was his bed.
It took her a moment or two to get her feet in motion but soon enough she was sitting on the bed, facing him in his desk chair. His hair was longer, hanging down to his chin. She couldn't pin point it but by looking at his band tee and his ripped jeans, bad boy came to mind. It was incredibly attractive. It was one of the reasons why she'd found Puck so attractive back in the day. Rachel looked around the room, doing her best to avoid eye contact.
"So pretty girl, do you have a name?"
