Blair was frustrated. Her face and hair dusted with flour. She ran a hand through her curls exasperatedly, not helping the mess of hair and flour on her head. She had promised her girlfriend, Kate, she would bake her cookies twice a year. What she failed to mention was her complete lack of cooking skills. But she knew how much this meant to Kate, so she forced herself to do it. Chocolate Chip cookies from scratch, easy right? Wrong….so so wrong.
That's how she found herself standing in her kitchen, covered in various powders Blair couldn't quite pronounce the names of. She looked to the bowl of 'batter' (if it could be called that). She wasn't much of a baker but she knew that when Kate made cookies, it sure did not look like that. She was better off just getting the pre-maid stuff. Though, Kate would probably notice the chemical taste, and then Blair would get a lecture on healthy food, and effort. She figured it wasn't worth the trouble.
Blair figured it was best if she just baked the offending material. She scooped spoonfuls onto a baking sheet she found in the cupboard and slid it into the oven. She collapsed next to it and leaned her head on the warm oven door. Now she just had wait. In the pit of her stomach, she felt the disappointment. She couldn't make simple cookies for Kate, who's done so much more for her. She felt her eyes go misty as the apartment door opened. Kate stumbled in with shopping bags hanging from almost every appendage.
After setting down each bag, Kate wandered in to the kitchen. Her eyes widened almost humorously before rushing over.
"Oh my gaga, What's wrong? What happened?" Kate said crouching down next to a teary-eyed Blair. At this, Blair burst into tears.
"Th-The co-cookies are ter-terrible! I tr-tried to make them good for you. B-but I f-failed!" Blair sobbed hysterically. Kate surprised her by bursting out laughing. Blair looked at her girlfriend indignantly.
"W-why are you laughing at me" She said in a small voice. Kate took a deep breath and smiled at her upset girlfriend.
"Because you can be so silly sometimes B" Kate said standing up and grabbing a pot holder. She took the cookies out and placed them on the counter. She snickered to herself again and grabbed Blair's hands and pulled her up.
"My silly silly Blair" She teased lightly, Blair smiled softly. Kate gave her a light peck on the lips before pulling back.
"Now get clean clothes on, your ruining my Valentina fiore scarf. We'll watch a movie and order in." Kate said smiling at her hormonal girlfriend. Blair grinned widely at this an ran to get her pajamas on. But not before pulling Kate into a deep kiss. Kate wrapped her arms around Blair's neck and pulled her closer, tilting her head for a deeper kiss. Blair pulled away smirking.
"Make sure it's Harry Potter, the first one" She whispered into Kate's ear, biting it before rushing away.
"Yup, hormonal" Kate muttered, getting the movie set up.
