The Hunger Games belongs to Suzanne Collins. This is the last day of the 28th Hunger Games told from John Brewn's point of view. This is just to get us ready for the start of the 29th Hunger Games.

The Last Day of the 28th Hunger Games

The rain was pouring all around me now making it very hard to see. I was drenched since I didn't have any way to protect myself from the pouring rain. It was only me and Alishia now. She was a career from District 1, and I had developed a hatred for her after watching her brutally murder my district partner Corrinne. Then as suddenly as the rain started it stopped though you could not see the sun through the canopy of the rain forest. I walked toward the Cornucopia knowing that Alishia would soon be there. I prepared to to battle with her. The only weapon I had was an axe, but being from District 11 I was very good with it. I had already killed three others, and Alicia would soon be joining them. We reached the Cornucopia at the same time though she didn't see me. She made camp hiding behind a couple of trees that the Careers had cut down at the beginning of the Games. I stayed hidden behind just on the edge of the rain forest watching and waiting for the right moment to strike. Later I could see she was starting to get tired, and fighting to stay awake watching for me. Soon she could not stop her need to sleep any longer and she drifted off. I took that as my chance to attack creeping silently across the meadow towards her shelter. She was sound asleep when I reached it. I lifted my axe and was ready to cut off her head when her eyes popped open. She stopped the axe, and used her grip on it to push me back. Quickly she reached for her bag containing her weapons. She grabbed her sword and approached me. I struggled to sit up, and prepare myself for her attack.

" Johnny, Johnny, Johnny did you really think I would be dumb enough to fall asleep?" she asked in a sickly sweet voice. " I should have finished you off when I killed your partner. She was fun to kill begging me to be nice and have mercy has I cut her. She really was a weakling wasn't she?" I was getting frustrated now as the scene of Corrinne's awful murder came back to me. Alicia advanced at me, and we parried back and forth me using my axe and her her sword. When the blow came I didn't see it coming. She caught me unexpectedly on the right shoulder causing my axe to fall to the ground. I knew it was over, and I fell to my knees surrendering myself to Alicia's blade.

"As much as I would like to see you suffer, Johnny, I have a family to get back to so I will make this quick." She said with a smirk , and with that she drove her blade through my heart. My world went black and Alicia Brown of District 1 became the victor of the 28th Hunger Games.
