Family Obligations
Kurt was walking down the hallway when Finn caught up to him.
"I assume you heard the news," he said, not even trying to hide the irritation in his voice.
"I heard," Kurt responded.
"I just don't know what she is thinking."
"People get engaged all the time, Finn. I don't think it was a surprise to anyone. "
"I just don't like it. I guess I didn't think it wouldn't last."
"There's a lot to think about when a kid's involved, but I really think they care about one another."
"You know they aren't thinking about the fact that they're parents. This is more selfish."
"Probably, but don't you think they deserve to be happy, Finn?"
"It's just hard… I've been the only guy in her life for so long and now she looks to him for everything. It's just hard to get used to."
"I know," Kurt said sympathetically.
"I thought you would be more upset about this."
"It's different for me, though. I mean I can see why this is harder for you."
"Do you think I should talk to her about it?"
"Definitely, not. As hard as it is to hear, it is not really your decision to make."
"I know. But you know what this means, don't you, Kurt?"
"Yeah… "
"It means we are going to be brothers."
