'Kodoku'

(I've fallen into the trap of using Japanese titles instead of english. -sob- Kodoku means 'Lonely/loneliness', according to a Japanese translator. It's like an AU, where the jewel is complete and Ayame has gotten her paws on it)
"I don't love you, Ayame! I never should have promised anything to you, so it's best if you forget!" Kouga snapped, not looking at her, but at Kagome and Inuyasha hugging each other. "I'm sorry." It came out harshly, and she collapsed, tears falling. He sped off, back to his clan. He had gotten what he wanted- revenge, even if Kagome had chosen Inuyasha oer him.
She looked down at the Shikon no Tama, tears dripping onto it, and her furs. She only had it because the others who had helped defeat Naraku were too distracted with each other. It glowed bright and pink, purified by the combined powers of Kagome and Kikyou. The jewel held such power… it could make a demon deadly strong, and supposedly could grant a wish. She held it to her heart. "I wish…" she murmured softly.
The word around her flashed pink, purple, blue, and finally black. Everything was fading. She sensed confusion around her, and then it all disappeared.
If you can't tell, Ayame did make a wish. What did she wish for? You'll have to wait and see.
